It was just alright to me, but I did enjoy a few of his other books. Stardust and Mirrormask specifically, the ones that have become movies :/

Also completely forgot to comment on the original photos! I haven't been to an art gallery in so long. I love them though, i should make more time. My favorite has to be Rene Magritte, he has some awesome yet thought provoking pieces. They're always cool. Though i do love the french impressionists like Cezanne and Monet. In saying all that, my favorite painting is from a guy called Georges Seurat called A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. Very popular but i love it!

@scottywobbles i like Rene Magritte and Salvador Dali... i'm quite fond of surrealists. I got lucky one time when i went to the Met in NYC. They had a special show for Max Ernst paintings which is my personal fave surrealist.

I like impressionist paintings too. The brush strokes and separation of colors gives movement to the painting. I don't know that Artist let me search it... i can see how it can be your fave ^_^ its beautiful. (this took about an hour or more of my time googling and looking at painting LOL)

I took 2 art appreciation classes in college and loved it =D

@CupOhCoffee i can see how that can be a very appealing activity LOL but would pose to be a very challenging one too... i imagine screaming, restraining orders, and imprisonment in your near future HAHAHAHAHA

Salvador Dali is a fantastic painter though i do find his use of color rather depressing. But thats a personal opinion and there's no denying that he was a master at his craft. My favorite of his paintings was destroyed(the orginal was anyway) but it was basically Jesus Christ on a cross made from bricks. Don't really know why i liked it so much but it jusy hit me lol.
My sister actually studied art and Dali was by far her favorite painter. Her fave was "The persistence of memory" which is signature Dali from top to bottom. Another awesome painting but i still don't like the pallet XD
My favorite Magritte painting is a toss-up between "The empire of lights" and "La Reproduction Interdite". The empire of lights is one of those paintings which i'm just drawn to by its contrast. The interdite is such a cool painting that is years before its time. The message is so relatable yet subtle, so there's still that joy in discovering it for yourself!

He's actually one who i've seen some of his paintings but i'd like to see more. They're surreal but clever in that respect as they're open for interpretation. Which i think is the whole point of a surrealist painting, it is what you make it.
