This was a present from Teddy Bear (my best friend's dog and my baby) at Christmas and is now on the wall in my office. I like it a lot.

I'm a shit friend...

I'm just about to head off to a friend's engagment party. I really don't want to go.

The first and main reason is that I'm not in the mood for company at the moment, and I think I'm just going to be annoyed the whole time I'm there.

But the second, darker and deeper reason is that I think that it is supremely unfair that this girl, who is younger and way more fucked up in the head as me, is engaged to a great man and is basically about to have all the things that I really want and have worked my ass off to get.

I'm pissed off that I have worked and worked and worked to get through my issues so that I'm in a good place to meet someone and have a mutual relationship ... while this friend has it fall into her lap ... or so it seems.

So that's why I'm a shit friend.

I broke up with my bf ... I'm sure I'm supposed to feel like this, but I don't. I guess eventually I'll meet a nice guy who says what he means and means what he says and likes the crunchy chips in a bowl of fries.

18 December: I fall over tenpin bowling and damage the patellar tendons in both knees, causing me to be unable to walk.

24 December: I am in tears all day because I can't walk properly and am in intense pain.

28 December: Knees are getting better and I can get around a bit more.

31 December: My ankle is now sore because of limping around.

2 January: I notice spots of inflammation that feels like bruising up my leg. I immediatey begin to freak out that I have a DVT and am going to die. I'm stubborn, so I refuse to see a doctor.

4 January: The pain has become intense and now envelopes all up the inner part of my right leg. I cave and go to my doctor who tells me I have 'superficial thrombophebitis', which essentially means that I have an irritated/inflamed vein running up the outside of the inside of my lower leg (if that makes sense), with possible clotting.

The good news is, it's not lethal.

The bad news is, it is painful and there's nothing you can take to make it go away, it just has to resolve on its own. Oh, and it might take up to two weeks to do so.
