FYI: contrary to common belief Tarot cards were originally just playing card originated in France and Italy in early 15th century....
actually, modern versions of the tarot decks are still use to play card games here in Italy! the use of it in cartomancy (tarot card reading) is something knew which came later in the late 18 and early 19 century...
so much for stupid, superstitious people ruining a good old deck of cards for playing.
