when I was a kid this book was one of my absolute favourites (as in I think it read it over 100 times.. more probably). It's about a boy who finds a horse on the way home from school one day and decides it would make a great pet. However they disagree when the horse (who talks) decides that the boy would make a nice pet! It's very quirky.

I think my childhood copy of the book got lost in various moves or garage sales but today I found it in a second hand bookshop! I was so happy.
