I'm just happy I finally have one of these in my possession.
They're very succinct about Iceland, too. "Island". What do they call Austraila? puɐןsı? /germlich
I'm currently gunning for a trip to Germany this summer (hopefully through the school), so this is half the battle, making sure I can understand people there through multiple means. I have pantomime and drawing down already, hahaha. (The other half might be the Irish in my mother--close-knit families in both relationship and distance and all.)

I'm not so happy about finals, though. For obvious reasons. My orch final was today, much to my dismay. Bleh.

Home for the first bits of new years' (not that I particularly want to?).

Not much to say--it's the mid vacation burn-out phase right now.

But ladies' day was a nice surprise, as well as a spot of dance central. And finding out that we go back to school a couple days later than anticipated.

I think it's safe to say my new hat gives me much more prominent hat hair. not that it's bad--or even that I don't like it, but still.

Even so, I wore it all day today, so that may be part of it. New favorite hat? I think so.

It was a good family dinner. They all seem to be good nowadays.

Meanwhile, I'm planning my blitzkreig on hopefully-clearanced bad christmas sweaters. I want to get twelve total, and I have one. (not the one I'm wearing now, that one's actually kinda okay. beady, but okay.) I also have a Foster's Home season DVD in my sights, as well as maybe a saga of the icelanders book and an edward sharpe cd if those don't turn up. and a couple religious themed shirts. which are available only online. awkward moment ahead for those two!

And I probably won't do stage tech for the play, it's much to late for me to ask and I'll be away at Galena from Wednesday to eh, Friday, Saturday? At least that solves the problem of what to wear to the dance?

And now I should try to sleep. Even though I still haven't really finished my parents' gifts, which is a bummer. Merry Christmas.

this doesn't seem like much, but my hands now act like chellist hands (sort of). right hand groups 1, 2, and 3 with the pinky sticking out, and the left hand is somewhat evenly spaced. normal hands tend to group 2 and 3 together with 1 and 4 off a bit.

not much, but it's the little things.

as for little things, this is the earliest i've ever got a speech memorised. oh dear.

now for college and scholarships and everything else.

"Do not dwell on differences with a loved one--try a compromise"
In other words, you should totally go to bed angry.

In other news, sick and busy again. The play went well (did I not mention I was the prop mistress? Nevertheless, I delivered props and stage handed with sultry effectiveness). Speech is getting busy, I still couldn't quite sign up for coaching (busy you know), but I have been working on my speech. It is a fine speech. A little cliche in base subject (video games) but hopefully not cliche in direction (in education).

Flatland is fabulous. It's one of those books that I keep losing and finding and loving all the while.

I swear I break every single rule on how to write. If dailybooth let you hyperlink, I'd actually link to it, but bare links make me cry and tinyurls make me paranoid.

I have like fifteen books going on at once (again)--Inferno (actually technically just the Divine Comedy, I finished Inferno, on Purgatory now. I like Musa. Much better than Ciardi. Less rhymey whymey), The Hobbit, On the Road, Invisible Monsters, Atlas Shrugged, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (I don't know why I keep stopping, I actually really like it), The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Ender's Game, The Metamorphoses (as in Ovid)... That's actually only nine, but still. I'm trying to read marathon books. I'm good at relatively short and succinct books (in the range of 100ish to 500 or 800, depending on the kind of book--with Harry Potter style it's like 800, with stuff like Zen/Motorcycle, it caps off at 500 or so), but Atlas Shrugged and other insanely thick and long-winded books are harder. How Ayn Rand is doesn't help, either.

There's a lot, but not much worth putting down right now, I suppose. I need to learn how to actually talk to people, there's a letter that's three weeks old, an interpreter that I haven't talked to in over a year, and a text that's three and a half hours old.
    I AM ANTISOCIAL

Crazy weeks, haha. I'll be happy when this one is over.

Almost done with both scarves, working on my speech, I don't think I can do stage tech this week (mostly because of math team tomorrow and asl club/coaching thurs), and then I'm just running straight home friday.

I got an army... dress jacket I think, it's nicer than what you'd wear on the field. The guy who had it was an engineer in the Korean War, so... I must say it is very warm. Also got a ton of sweaters an aunt used to have. I think I found my gaudy Christmas sweaters. Got a fair bit of music (LOTR original sheet music, as in from 1967ish, and Neighborhoods).

Not much of sustenance other than perhaps Requiem for a Dream on Friday and youth group all weekend. And starting The Hobbit and Ender's Game.

    KNIT ALL THE THINGS

so basically, there's a harry potter style scarf almost done, a doctor who scarf on the way, and then a ravenclaw upperclassmen scarf. :)

although i might have to knit a new beanie, i can't find paco...

homework, clubs, and trying to be social are my main things this year, I think. sophomore letters are a spot difficult, too. but pottermore is quite good!

eh? no, my book list isn't two legal pads long.... yet.
but i do need to redo it to get the highlighting right. as in, look up more than two hundred books to make sure i've put down all the right stuff for them all.
    i need a job.
    a library job!

minor headaches all over the place. busy year, hahah. i might have to do as much as i can this weekend.

not much lately other than homework, managing clubs, and reconnecting. and watching The Choir. that show's better than glee.

Either curly hair doesn't really do much for me or I did something wrong. It might be a bit of both.

Nothing much, just working on my book list again and actually getting homework done. It's a miracle!

It seems like my knitting has been lost, needles and skeins and all, bummer.

-on another note, it kind of looks like sandra bloom's hair, which is always a plus, haha
