    first day off in weeks. regrettably, i've reached a point at which days primarily spent scrubbing mold and running errands count as "off."

    made stuffed squash for din, then impulsively baked a pie... and cookies. only in the insulin spiked aftermath was i struck with the slow dawning realization that my body willfully compels me toward a life of housewifedom.

    halloween songs stuck in my head all month as usual. why does no one ever sing these beyond grade school? would be delighted to find a band of autumn carolers making the rounds one year.

    ran past a frowny moustache faced man this morning carrying what by all outward appearances was an assault rifle with scope and bayonet.
    a few dog walkers on the block scattered from the sidewalk and literally hid in nearby bushes. i stood for a moment with a couple paralyzed onlookers to watch him stop at his car gun still in hand, casually turn heel several times to take note of his audience, and drive off.

    easy to forget sometimes that seattle is, in fact, still an american city.
