    With Sandy near Chinle, Arizona, May 1993.

    We spent one week on a houseboat on Lake Powell with our friend Bruce and his girlfriend Cathy, then another week just driving and hiking around America's southwest. A really superb vacation.

    This little B&W photo sits on the bookshelf behind me, and I've often thought to scan it. Tonight I did.

    This is the the window display of a very weird, little shop on East Front Street, the main road in the economically suffering town of Hancock, New York. In fact, it's been the window display there since about 1999...

    Walt Broughton's "Swarmbustin' Honey" is my current favorite (http://911honey.com). If you buy the "Totally Raw" version, the jar cap contains this rather direct caveat:

    "Unheated, unstrained HONEY containing BEE POLLEN, PROPOLIS, BEESWAX, and possibly unavoidable bee parts."

    Cracks me up.

    So after an eleven day hiatus, I come back with another booth about someone else's art... what is it with me these days?

    This is (to my eye) a stunning print made by an artist and naturalist named Paul Landacre (1893-1963, http://www.historicechopark.org/id101.html).

    This charmer is actually a painting done by someone who also went to my alma mater, The Cooper Union School of Art. (I discovered this fact only by looking at his website.)
