Posted on twitter/tumblr already, but whatever. If you don't like it you can suck my dick.

If you know where the lyric is from without googling I'll suck yours.

Was meant to fly out of Gatwick yesterday, but London has me in it's icy clutches and does not want me to leave. So I'm stranded until Thursday when I will be taking the ferry overnight to Belfast. Aye, fuck you easyjet. You are neither easy, nor jetting.

wine out of a regular glass, and roots. classy bird.

our wine glasses are all packed away, leave me alone.

(Slight Gaga/Madonna essay follows - yes, the comparison is obvious, but this is my personal experience of it: more talking about the shows than the influence.)

Last night I was channeling the essence of @Jonzorus at the O2. Also, got myself the vinyl, just cuz.

The show was actually far better than I expected. Not being a Monster I went in with fairly conservative expectations, and was pleasantly surprised.

After seeing her live, will now argue against the idea that she is Madonna-lite, on the following points:

    * Gaga is not a dancer. She does dance, certainly, but she isn't great (that is not to say the choreography of the show is not) - this is partially because some of the fashion inhibits mobility & simply because she doesn't appear to be trained in it (this is a guess, correct me if I'm wrong.)

    * Madonna is a dancer- in that, this was her profession before she was a singer. Gaga is a far, FAR superior singer live.

Thus, Madonna's shows are more dance-orentiated & Gaga's focuses more on the music- scoff if you will at the lyrical content, but Gaga is more of a musician. Gaga's show is also more theatrical, I'm not talking about the fairly basic "plot" of the show, but it does sucessfully take you on an emotional journey: a transformation takes place if you allow it. I'm not saying Madonna's show lacks emotion, but she is so, so guarded that is it harder for her to take you on the same journey.

I'm not suggesting I now prefer Gaga, but after experiencing the show I have more of an understanding of her. I think the best thing she has done has shown the world it's okay to make pop music- if you do it well (which Madonna really needed to hear after her last, ridiculous "r&b" record.)

The spoils of my day in London: Patrick Wolf's new single on Vinyl. And, um, messy hair, I guess.

Oh, also bought beer for my friend's birthday later. Drunken times ahoy.

    How was your Saturday?

Patrick Wolf last night. Didn't hang around to meet him, it was far too cold, and I was far too tired.

Tonight: pizza, pear cider & Mad Men. I know how to party.
