Oh it rattles within me like a truth alright
hollow and ringing with the symphony of mistakes
these fake noises pour out of my mouth
insincere small talk and repitious goodbyes
as if the fifth time will be less traumatic
than the first
Honestly, I’m falling apart, but only subtly
I’ll cry randomly but fall into our pattern of
never agains deceptively
lying to myself, lying to you
keeping secrets that I could only wish I knew
and change keeps its rash healthy on my skin
so I scratch and scratch
reminded again and again
I burn like a witch at the stake
for believing in things that ultimately
were solid and concrete
but undeniable blasphemy
Dancing in front of me
like a mirage
is what we could have been
if you’d loved me enough
