not sure if you turned the feature on, but with any iOS device, it was a "Find My iPhone" feature where you can log into www.icloud.com with your Apple ID and click on the "Find My iPhone" link. If you turned it on on your phone, it'll tell you where your phone is within a few hundred feet. =)
But, there is the chance that the person who stole it knows about that feature and turned it off, if you didn't set a restriction to not turn it off. =/
Anywho, it sucks someone would steal someone else's iPhone. I don't have a clue who would want an insulin pump, but I'm thinking they thought it could be sold for something. =/
Kia Rio starts about $14,000 and has 30mpg city and 40mpg highway. My mom was looking into getting one.
I haven't done the math on if it's cheaper in the long run, but you could also look into the Nissan Leaf. It starts about $28,000 and is 100% electric. Can go about 100 miles on a single charge. Can plug it into any wall outlet or you can buy the 220Volt wall charger and charge it in half the time. =)
Those would be my recommendations on short notice. =P
