Broadway Booth!
So, earlier, I went in to NYC with my family and we saw West Side Story. I quite enjoyed it, despite having seen the movie during my senior year of high school in band class (we played a selection of songs from West Side Story) and despite the plot being kinda sorta like Romeo and Juliet. Afterwards, we headed out of the city and made our way to Bonefish Grill for dinner. *smacks lips* Fantastic place to eat. We came home and I discovered this small envelope waiting for me, containing a nice card from @karli, along with a dollar elephant (on top of the Playbill). Thanks a bunch, Karli!
Going to recap the last few days, if you don't mind.
- Wednesday: Hung out around the house for a while and then went over to Matt's (a new friend; also one of the children of one of my mom's friends from work; also was featured on Failblog about a month ago (look up Explosion Effect Fail if you're interested ...)) and we hung out for about 2 hours, talking movies and effects and stuff. He had a copy of Paranormal Activity, so I checked the list of fans at the end of the film ... and I'm on the list! :DDDD I headed back home, relaxed, filmed the first Discussion Wednesday video of the month (about the Spiderman reboot), and watched "The Brothers Bloom" late-ish at night. I quite enjoyed the flick and have added Rian Johnson to the list of directors who I someday hope to work with.
- Thursday: Hung around the house and helped my dad move 2 couches. We got a new couch in the living room and we had to move the old couch from the living room down to the basement, but to do that, we had to take it out the front door, down the driveway, into the garage, and into the basement. I didn't want to move another couch ever again. But I had to. We moved the couch we had in the basement out into the garage and wheeled it up to the curb, which wasn't as bad. I'm never doing that again.
- Friday: I made plans at roughly 2:30 in the morning with my friend Ryan (not on DB) to see "Up in the Air" and grab lunch afterwards. We did. I ... gosh ... the movie was fantastic. Clooney was the perfect pick for the role. I enjoyed seeing the Reitman regulars/mainstays in the flick (J.K. Simmons and Sam Elliot). The film itself was a great commentary or look at modern relationships and how distant yet close we are with family and friends. And I also added (or reconfirmed that I added) Jason Reitman to the list of directors who I someday hope to work with.
