Broadway Booth!
So, earlier, I went in to NYC with my family and we saw West Side Story. I quite enjoyed it, despite having seen the movie during my senior year of high school in band class (we played a selection of songs from West Side Story) and despite the plot being kinda sorta like Romeo and Juliet. Afterwards, we headed out of the city and made our way to Bonefish Grill for dinner. *smacks lips* Fantastic place to eat. We came home and I discovered this small envelope waiting for me, containing a nice card from @karli, along with a dollar elephant (on top of the Playbill). Thanks a bunch, Karli!

Going to recap the last few days, if you don't mind.
- Wednesday: Hung out around the house for a while and then went over to Matt's (a new friend; also one of the children of one of my mom's friends from work; also was featured on Failblog about a month ago (look up Explosion Effect Fail if you're interested ...)) and we hung out for about 2 hours, talking movies and effects and stuff. He had a copy of Paranormal Activity, so I checked the list of fans at the end of the film ... and I'm on the list! :DDDD I headed back home, relaxed, filmed the first Discussion Wednesday video of the month (about the Spiderman reboot), and watched "The Brothers Bloom" late-ish at night. I quite enjoyed the flick and have added Rian Johnson to the list of directors who I someday hope to work with.
- Thursday: Hung around the house and helped my dad move 2 couches. We got a new couch in the living room and we had to move the old couch from the living room down to the basement, but to do that, we had to take it out the front door, down the driveway, into the garage, and into the basement. I didn't want to move another couch ever again. But I had to. We moved the couch we had in the basement out into the garage and wheeled it up to the curb, which wasn't as bad. I'm never doing that again.
- Friday: I made plans at roughly 2:30 in the morning with my friend Ryan (not on DB) to see "Up in the Air" and grab lunch afterwards. We did. I ... gosh ... the movie was fantastic. Clooney was the perfect pick for the role. I enjoyed seeing the Reitman regulars/mainstays in the flick (J.K. Simmons and Sam Elliot). The film itself was a great commentary or look at modern relationships and how distant yet close we are with family and friends. And I also added (or reconfirmed that I added) Jason Reitman to the list of directors who I someday hope to work with.

That's awesome!! I once saw an off Broadway version of 'West Side Story' when I was a senior in high school. Let me tell you, it was AMAZING!!! It made me just love live theatre. Well, i'm so glad you had a great time. =)

I love the beginning of West Side Story but as soon as "Maria" is over I'm asleep.

I wasn't too excited about the Spiderman reboot until today, when I realized that a new cast means no moar Kirsten Dunst. HAHAHAHAH! :D
But I don't want Uncle Ben to die again. le sad.

The opening of the Westside Story movie was amazing for its time, but the show is sooo much better. I mean the movie is missing songs and the boys just seemed too old although Elliot Feld was adorable.

Had a similar moving adventure with a giant old TV that weighed I'm pretty sure more than me. We first dragged it to a room upstairs. Later mom decided it belonged in the basement. Later still it was decided we didn't need it anymore so out to the curb it went. Ours is an old house with winding stairs. Much fun was had by all.

@crimsong19 *Is jealous of you* Eeeeep! You saw 'West Side Story' in NYC?!?... I've never seen a play in my life (minus high school plays) but I'd really love to some day. Tis on my list of "Things Stefany should have already done a long LONG time ago." ... Oh, and Bonefish Grill IS quite tasty. I went there in Florida last year. A bit pricey, but great nonetheless. I really enjoyed their calamari.

I still need to see 'The Brother's Bloom'... looks interesting. As does 'Up in the Air.' Yet, it's not on my list of movies I MUST see. I'm being really frugal here...

@myownprivatevertigo Well, when you and Nat go on your road trip, spend a few days in my neck of the woods/NYC! Perhaps we can hit up a show or two. Indeed Bonefish is quite tasty ... although I ate something there last night that didn't agree with me ... seeing it all go the opposite was isn't quite nice. Or tasty. As for the two movies, "Brothers Bloom" is quite an enjoyable con flick that plays with your head a bit. And "Up in the Air" ... I can't speak more highly of it. Add it to your list!
