Josiah Leming is fucking incredible. I dare you to find someone on the planet that puts more passion and energy into a show.
I got to talk to him before Grace played (the first opener) and you know, awkward small talk. obviously he was really fucking nice. he remembered The Loft, a show he played 2 years ago with Dion Roy and Tyler Hilton (he and Dion live in NY). he told me that he remembers everything about shows (venues). i believe him.
Then Grace played and was really good, she is from Milwaukee and had played at the Ale House since she was 16. the set up is really stupid there, no one was standing by the stage, we were all behind the dinner tables, so like 6 people got a good view. i was really annoyed.
so then josiah is going to come on and i talk to these kids behind me like, "can we go stand up there?" and so they came with me for like 30 seconds. so i awkwardly stood by myself for 2 songs and then Josiah is like "can you all come crowd around?" because this is what he lives for. and then he's like "i was about to ask the waitress to bring me 3 shots or to be carried off under the stage" because it didn't seem like anyone was having a good time. so then he played and it was awesome and the first song he did on guitar the amp plug fell out so he went in to passionate scream mode singing while he fumbled to put it back in. and then amazing piano playing and songs and 3 requests at the end. he ended with "too young" and i was singing along with him, and i mean like, he was looking at me while i was singing. *sigh*
then i got to talk to him again and take a picture which doesn't look that great. but he was just really fucking nice and says he tries to remember people and these girls were trying to give him their numbers and it was cute, cuz i think they were younger, and again, he was just so nice about it. then he fumbled around trying to get the card reader for the iphone to work for this tshirt i bought and i gave him a final hug and thanked him basically for his inspiration.
also, i parked in a bank parking structure, which apparently i wasn't allowed to do, because the attendant happened to be out as i was going back to my car and is like "is your car parked in here?" i'm like "yeah" then there was some confusion and i'm like "can i get out" and he said "yeah, the machine will let you out" and then when i got my car and went to pay he's like "yeah, you seemed to know what you were doing so i left you alone" implying i wasn't supposed to park there and then i tried to think of something to say so i'm like "i was walking around trying to kill time before" and he's like "as long as you weren't trying to kill no body!" LMAOUT.
