This is the beautiful wall scroll I won at the Uchiko Loves Tohoku fundraiser. I paid a ridiculous amount for it in the auction XD Wanted to show the Japanese how fundraising is done!!! My lights make it look a bit violently yellow, it's actually a really nice chartreuse colour, and the gilding is done in copper leaf. The entire thing is made by hand - the paper, the wood, the tying cord, and of course the gilding itself - by members of Uchiko's artisans' guild.
...I can't bring myself to hang it properly because I'm scared that maybe the green will fade in the sunlight ;A;
Handbound books. I've been a busy little bee! XD The one with the clips and the trailing ribbon is bound with hand-sewn signatures (10 signatures, four sheets in each... 160 pages all together?). The other two (with the aqua spine and the blue spine/blue cover) are single-signatures, also sewn. These ones will be refils for a leather travel journal I have. THe other one, I hope to make a book out of. I've not bound a book for a while and need to find sturdy enough card for bookboard, but hopefully it will work out!!!
