It's SNOWING! It hasn't snowed like this in a few years! I hope it sticks around for Christmas! :O

Yay! My 2011 Ghibli planner came in the mail! Perfect timing, too, since the first day I could use it was Nov. 29th!

Since I'm not in school for, er, all of 2011, I'm going to be using it for real-life stuff? I'm thinking it'll come in handy when I travel somewhere, and when I want to see how much I'm spending each day, or something.

The book: Olof the Eskimo Lady: A Biography of an Icelandic Dwarf in America. Won it in a blog contest last month. :D "Ólöf Krarer may be one of America's most effective impostors of the twentieth century. Born in Iceland in 1858, she moved to the United States at age nineteen. Because she was a dwarf, the only job she could get was as the "wife" in a dwarf couple at a circus. It wasn't long before she fabricated a new life for herself, as an Inuit Eskimo from Greenland."

The toy: a bear made out of recycled plastic bottles! I bought it when we stayed at a KOA campground this past summer. It's not really that soft or cuddly, but it's adorable.

This one just came today! It's Machine of Death, an anthology of stories (and comics?) about a machine that predicts how people will die. There was a movement on Tuesday to get it to #1 on Amazon's bestseller list, and it WORKED! :D More info about the book and Tuesday's business here: http://machineofdeath.net/a/

This book actually came on Wednesday, but whatever. It's the second in the Guild of Specialists trilogy, one of my favorite YA trilogies ever. It's got ships and sword fights and pirates and adventure! And wonderful drawings and maps and other such things! Yay!

And yes, that is a Teletubbie.

Two books in the mail today! Huzzah, huzzah. One is: The Red Necklace by Sally Gardner, from a dude on BookMooch. It's a YA book set during the French Revolution!

The other is: an ARC of Sparrow Road by Sheila O'Conner, from the publisher. It's a YA book set in a mysterious estate-- I'm guessing it's sort of like The Secret Garden mixed with a Vivien Alcock book? No idea (it came unsolicited, so this is the first I'm hearing of it).

    Yay!

Another book came today! It's The Pharaoh's Secret by Marissa Moss, who does the Amelia's Notebook series that I adore. The hardback is on remainder price for less than $5 at Amazon, so I couldn't resist.

Stuffed toy is the Beast from the Beauty and the Beast Broadway show. We saw the show a few months ago when it came to New Mexico-- it was REALLY good! I highly recommend it if you like musical theatre.

A book came in the mail! The Tapestry Shop by Joyce Elson Moore. It's a historical fiction novel set in medieval France and it's got Robin Hood somethings in it, so it should be a lot of fun!

Some Toy Story toys make an appearance here, as well as a tiny sock monkey.

You guys do not even know how many awesome toys I have! So I'm going to be featuring them in my photos whenever I don't feel like making an appearance myself.

These two are Buzz Lightyear and Snow White, Pook-a-Looz style. The book is one I got for review today, You Don't Look Like Anyone I Know by Heather Sellers. :D
