If you take the iron from the hemoglobin in the blood of all of the people living in the tri-state area of New York, you can recover the same amount of iron contained in a seven ton meteorite located beneath the surface of the Sahara. Both of these masses of iron are traceable to the center of the same great star which exploded millenia ago. We humans are stardust, part of the same universe which resides in us.
