Goodbye summer 2010. Had a fun family campfire with the family as we've done every summer holiday this year. Our last bonfire fittingly enough still had much talk about my brother's wedding as we went through all the proofs from their photographer. So many great memories and amazing photographs. And once again, whenever my family comes together, we had a great feast! Happy Labor Day everyone.

About 13 years ago, a new restaurant opened by our local mall. It was a 50's themed diner that I tried out a few times with friends. The service was horrible and the food was cold. One night a clumsy waitress dropped a tray of glass dishes which broke into a billion pieces. My friend and I, both huge Star Wars dorks, came up with some scenario that this was a diner that could be found in Star Wars, and entire wait staff was Gungan, all relatives of Jar Jar Binks. From that day forward, the diner was called the Gungan Cafe. A few weeks after the clumsy waitress dumped those plates, the diner closed.

Fast forward 5 years later... I'm driving home from work, and right off my main exit, a few miles from home, I notice a shiny new diner that looks remarkably like the Gungan Cafe. I do a little digging and find out this place was actually physically moved 20 miles from the mall to a happy new location! It was renamed The Cruise In Diner and did quite well under new management. My family and I ate there all the time. My coworker and I had a good chuckle when we found out his nephew took a job as head chef at this place. The Gungan Cafe livesd on!

...Until, of course, newer management took over and the place fell apart – again. My friend's nephew was left running the place by himself one day when he just got sick of it and walked out! The Gungan Cafe was living up to it's namesake! A few months later, it was closed again. They just couldn't keep it together.

Fast forward to last week. I'm driving home again, and notice all the lights are back on at the Gungan Cafe. It's reopened, under new management AGAIN! It's been closed for 2 or 3 years. This place won't die! I stopped there tonight and everything was great. I hope it makes it this time.

I had to text message my friend to let him know that the Gungan Cafe lives on. We can't shake this place and I don't think I want to! :)

Had a crappy day today, so I'm going to post a picture of this cool house I shot late Saturday night after hanging out with some local peeps! Not sure why this place was lit up at 2:45 AM!

Mondays!! I've been working on 5 concurrent projects at work all summer long. We shipped one on Friday and I have the other 4 due a week from tomorrow. Today I kicked some ass and feel like I finally have everything under control and on schedule for launch next week. It's been a stressful couple of months, but somehow I worked it out. (I look pissed off in this photo....the goal was to look tired but pleased with my progress. Emote fail!!)

Spent a lot of time with my dad's dog Moxy this weekend. Here she is playing with my sister's dog Mini. These two dogs are beautiful, amazing animals, who wouldn't hurt a flea, even though here it looks like they're attacking each other! Every time I see Moxy, her tail just doesn't stop wagging! These animals are a wonderful, important part of our family. :)
