As I ventured to my friend's house, I acquired the absurd idea to dress up.
This was the third look, actually.
The first being painting my face brown and I legitimately looked like a black chick with blonde weave.
The second look being a lion, whiskers included.
And this, my shift from my average blonde white girl look to Asian pufferfish
I feel as though they could have named it something catchier (Texas State's open house is called Bobcat Day. See, that's cute), but oh well.
It's a pretty snazzy place, I liked the campus. I did not like that it was over 9000 degrees yesterday or that UNT does not label the five thousand billion statues adorning their campus. Like this scientist. I have no idea who this is.
This is my Art History bible. It's about thirteen pounds and within its bounds, it holds my life.
Art History is my passion and my most prided on hobby.
Recently, I've been having doubts about it. I've asked myself what can I really do with Art History? will I ever get a job? Will I end up as some crackpot on the streets yelling at kids doing graffiti because I don't approve of the composition?
But today my former Art History teacher showed me his self-proclaimed 'dirty tourist photos' of his Spring Break in France and as I saw these iPhone quick snaps of the Louvre, Notre Dame, Chartres and all the works contained in many more museums, I realized I knew most of them. I knew all these things about them and I inquired on his trip and I was so fascinated.
I art-gasmed at how large the Raft of The Medusa really is and how I never noticed how..petite the Seated Gudea is, how Grande Odalisque is really quite beautiful and how HUMUNGOUS the Louvre is. I realized this is really my passion.
Art History is what I want to do and I can't let annoying little murmuring insecurities dim my chances of doing what I want.
This is my best friend. She's 5,11 and towers over my 5,3 frame.
It's quite comical how we're opposites, really.
She's really tall, I'm quite vertically challenged.
She's *cough*black*cough* and I'm clearly the shade of paper.
She is quite confrontational, outspoken, enjoys partying and is quite flirty and confident.
I'm a tad more shy, I like reading and lingering on the internet and I'm far too timid to flirt with anyone.
