A View of Caffeinated-Kathleen:

"...each human being was a rounded whole, with double back and flanks forming a complete circle; it had four hands and an equal number of legs, and and two identically similar faces upon a circular neck, with one head common to both faces, which were turned in opposite directions...Man's original body having thus been cut in two, each half yearned for the half from which it had been severed."

Such is the birth of Eros according to Aristophanes.

I hope you all have a nice day.

I am glad you had read this very important paragraph about love.
I myself had cited this in my thesi, too.

@WildeforOscar I have for the most part abandoned DB, but still pop back from time to time to see how people are doing. If you ever plan on doing the same, I very much hope you keep in touch via some method, even if I do prove the most awkward and least talkative pen pal in history.

I also suggest you come and study here and some point. Preferably near me.

@SeeKay DB is difficult to for me to keep up with. You'll note that I am incredibly behind. We'll definitely have to find a way to keep in touch--I miss our little chats and intellectual discussions. Is there any particular method that you prefer?

Whereabouts do you live? I do hope that if I must force myself into graduate school to attend a particular school in the UK.

@WildeforOscar I shall eagerly PM you my much sought-after work email so that you may inundate me with intellectual observations and musings. I am in desperate want for such distractions of late.

You may be interested to know that as my current supply of books dries up, I have composed a new list of literary purchases, including Plato's 'Symposium' (from whence came your quote by Aristophanes), and Wilde's 'The Soul of Man Under Socialism' after I heard it references by the radical communist philosopher Slavoj Zizek.

At the moment I live on the Suffolk coast, jutting out toward the Netherlands. It's pretty flat and arable area comprised mostly of farmers, gentry and retired city folk. A very old fashioned area; Constable country, no less. By the description, do you imagine you would like it here, or are you much more comfortable amidst tall glass buildings?

@SeeKay Many thanks. I'll try to keep you as entertained as possible, however I fear that I may not prove to be the best distraction.

Your literary choices fill me with utter ecstasy. The Symposium is by far one of Plato's best works in my opinion and one can NEVER go wrong with Wilde. Please, please, please let me know your reaction once you've finished them.

It really all depends on the day one catches me. Sometimes I feel that the city is positively suffocating and the lack of change in such a bustling setting is constricting my being. However, other days, I enjoy the feeling of security of such a deceitful place.

We'll see where this takes me (us, the world) in the near future.
