@Francis Yeah, it really did. Now that I have this guy sort of taking me under his wing to learn all the ins and outs of the props industry I'm super excited to make another cosplay.
Otafest went wonderfully. I am not as invested in anime as I once was, but I still enjoy being there and it's grown to something that is beyond anime, it's very diverse in it's fandoms, which is nice.
I only bought a couple of yaoi manga to indulge an addiction that still peaks my interest at times. The rest of the weekend was spent outside having my picture taken. I got lots of compliments on the bass.
The bass is all done! It was so fun to make and also a shit ton of hard ass work.
All I have left for my cosplay now is the gray body paint, which I was going to get today but every place that was useful was closed and it was the worst.
So tomorrow it is.
EDIT:
So apparently it's really hard for some to wrap their brain around cosplay. I'm dressing as Marceline for a convention, this is why I made her bass, no it's not a real bass, It's a prop; I know this idea is astronomically hard to comprehend but do your best. It would do the people who previously commented good to read and make observations before they make fools of themselves.
