Holy cow! You certainly have found a way to make up for your absence lately! Geeee :) Of course, my list would be slightly different as I would add some music I hear here, such as some French, Italian, Spanish, Hebrew, Tahitian, NewCaledonian, Tongian, Vanuatu etc... but then again, I loved some of your worst 50... Am I doomed? :)

Very cool that you did this. I have always wanted to compile my top 500 songs of all-time but have never gotten around to doing it. Maybe someday. I think it's safe to say our lists would be quite different. But you already knew that.

@MichaelMidnight The mathematical algorithm of my eclectic musical taste, Michael. =)))))

@Fanchy You aren't doomed, Fanch. I suppose this list was actually intended to provoke a bit of good-natured argument.

@sopeauh I created it today. Took me just a few hours. It was actually kind of fun. I suppose I should have titled it "My 250 Favorite/50 Least Favorite Singles of the Past Decade," but I thought I would just be a bit uppity and say "best" and then "worst" for the lists here. =)

@jaywinsthegame Haha...no way..."Lose Yourself" is an anthem for people who are facing a challenge in life. I need to listen to Animal Collective. Haven't really listened to them before.

Just so you know you repeated “Duffle Bag Boy” Playaz Circle featuring Lil Wayne twice. I think another song should be on the top 250.

The Best of list is quite good. Even though there are songs on there which I don't like (there's bound to be) I can see why they were put in there. So well done on that.

The Worst of list is where I have some issues.... =P
Some of those songs are quite good but were just way over-exposed. I'm talking Linkin Park, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry, Nickelback. I don't particularly like any of the music, in fact I almost despise Nickelback, but it's not because they write bad songs. It's because mainstream media ruined them for me.

2 songs which should certainly NOT be on that Worst of list.

If You're Gone - Matchbox 20. How in the world is this one of the worst songs of the decade!? It's so sincere and beautiful. Thomas wrote it when his fiance left him when she realised she was about to marry a musician and got all scared because it's not what she wanted to do. Listen to the song again knowing what it's about and tell me it's crap.

Human - The Killers. Now they're my favourite band so I may be a little bias, but this is certainly not 44th worst song written in the past 10 years. I just don't even understand how you could consider this song bad, let alone terrible.

@Justin Good question, Justin. I guess I just find "Bad Romance" more irritating than any pop song released this decade. Let me add a little secret: there are a couple of Nickelback songs that i actually don't mind. I liked the song "How You Remind Me" for a while, and then "Animals" is pretty good.

@Zachary Thanks for reading it, and thanks for tweeting it too, man. I appreciate that.

@studentdotcom Thanks for reading, Jeff. That would be cool to read your list, and I think we have some of the same tastes in music.

@sofiezombie I feel bad now because I went back and listened to Stefani's "Cool" and it really isn't as bad as I remembered. Oops.

@madeofhippo Thanks for your thoughtful and passionate response. I genuinely appreciate it. You inspired me to go back and re-listen to The Killers' song "Human," which isn't too shabby of a single after all. You're right that it doesn't belong there. The Killers are a great band, and I guess I just wasn't too thrilled with the direction they took on more recent albums. As for "If You're Gone," I have to admit that i still don't care for it. As you may have read above, i kind of intended these lists to be friendly, good-natured ways to start "musical arguments," so i want to thank you for taking me up on that. Do you have any thoughts on other possible songs for the worst-of list?

@sofiezombie I'm beginning to see some weaknesses in my list. I meant to include "Lark on My Go-Kart" by Asher Roth on the best list too, but i kinda forgot.

@Nicholi Just a few hours. It was fun. However, now I'm thinking it needs to be revised. I might post a new list with updated songs.

Robert James "Bob" Ritchie (born January 17, 1971), known by his stage name Kid Rock, is an American singer-songwriter, musician and rapper with five Grammy Awards nominations. Kid Rock released several studio albums that mostly went unnoticed before his 1998 record Devil Without a Cause, released with Atlantic Records, sold 11 million albums behind the hits, "Bawitdaba", "Cowboy", and "Only God Knows Why". In 2000, he released The History of Rock which was a compilation of remixed and remastered versions of songs from his previous albums as well as the hit single, "American Bad Ass" and the previously unreleased "Abortion".
