Here's the new scarf pattern I just released on Ravelry. It only takes 1 skein of Cascade Venezia (probably my favorite worsted weight yarn I've ever worked with) and I hammered it out in one weekend. What else more could you want in a scarf?
These are what I'm wearing, and I may knit something else as well.
For those who don't know, on October 20th, many people are wearing purple in memory of the recent victims of LGBT bullying who decided to complete suicide.
My newest knitting. It's the Rodekool scarf from Knitty.com's newest issue. It's a brioche two color knit, so it's 100% reversible, with the gray more prominent on the opposite side. I made this for one of my grandmas as a gift, but I haven't decided which of the two I'll give it to. Either way, I'm sure they'll love it.
Grandma G sent me this for my birthday. I'll be wearing it the Monday before election day because I don't really get out much on Tuesday, although I may just go stand by people handing out flyers with my own dog. =) It makes me sad to think that Abby was born into a puppy mill and spent even one second there, but she's such a great dog and I can't imagine life without her.
It's my newest shwatch. (Shawl swatch.) I would show you what I'm knitting, but it's a surprise for someone on here and twitter, so I don't want to ruin it.
Anyway, this is a swatch for a shawl pattern I've had in mind for a while now. The swatch isn't perfect, but it confirms what I conceptually reasoned would work. I'm going to knit myself a similar shawl to this to wear as a scarf in a purple, and when I get all the kinks worked out, I'll knit Christian a scarf using the same technique (kinda).
I just got a package from my Mom and Dad. It had a bread machine, granola bars, and CHOCOLATE MUTHA FUCKIN COOKIES! I'm so excited about all of these, frankly because I needed to start baking myself some bread. Srsly. Also, these cookies are the bomb. I made them myself, but they're always better when Mom makes them. Am I right?
The question is now, whether I spin these little baby rovings or try to spin (with some success) the larger roving you can see peeking up at the top of the picture? I'm leaning towards the baby rovings just because I've really not spun much at all. Actually, I really want to try my hand at low-twist singles for lace knitting... and these may provide the testing I need. Hrmmm.
