I did this to my hair, and had the Cruella Deville song stuck in my head for quite some time.
It seemed appropriate.
Do you get good tunes stuck in your head?
Do share.
(Jay keeps sending me new music lately, and I'm loving it. {: )9 commentsJanuary 10th, 2012

I may use it often, but "love" is not a word I use lightly.
Love
is something I
mean.9 commentsJanuary 8th, 2012

Decade II, Day I.
We woke up at four in the morning, bundled, spent $24.96 of my $25 birthday gift card on food, then drove up a mountain. On the way, I almost hit a deer. A big one. A really big one. A really big one with really big antlers. But I was chill, and no creatures, human or otherwise, were injured.
When we got to the top it was still mostly dark, except for the rainbow spanning half of the horizon. We got out and looked at all the city lights below and spent our time waiting for the sun by running around on stairways and rooftops and taking pictures.
The few moments after the sun showed its skin, my dear brothers sang happy birthday to me in the worst, most laugh-inducing tones manageable.
We had our picnic breakfast in my car while listening to Coldplay, then spent the rest of our time jumping around cliff sides and taking epic pictures.
It was the perfect morning.

What happened on the best birthday you've ever had?
And have you ever hit an animal while driving?4 commentsNovember 3rd, 2011

Yes, thanks to the combined artistic efforts of @JoshuaBB and his brother, I apparently DO eat kitty's souls for breakfast.

NaNoWriMo started today! I'm letting it inspire me, if not actually planning on doing as the forms suggest and being long-winded and redundant and unnecessary simply to reach the 50,000 word mark. Quality over quantity, you see. The best part is that if I like it enough, I can get it published, because that's the kind of thing my mother's into. So that plus the fact that it's National Novel Writing Month means the pressure's on for producing a quality novel/la.
I've just been talking to my friend who's going to attempt NaNo as well, and we took the quote that's something like,
"if the kind of person you want to see in this world doesn't exist, then that is who you must become"
(which are words worth living by)
and we turned it into
"If the kind of book you want to see this world doesn't exist, then that's the one you must write."
So, let's become. LET'S WRITE.
In one way or another, something fantastic is going to come of this.

Have you ever had an idea that took you years to really act upon? Do you maybe have one now? What are you waiting for?8 commentsNovember 1st, 2011

"It was like a giant puzzle, everything holding everything else in place, and me twisting around myself with a needle and thread trying to make it all work."

"I don’t think you understand. Do you know what this means? I’m going home for the spring, and water will be running, two feet deep, fifty feet from my back porch! It’s going to flow through our yard, past the ancient trees and under our driveway. Because of their drink, the apricot trees will burst with popcorn flowers and the lilacs will paint the yard markedly purple. And the fields. The fields will be lush. The soft green will envelop my entire world. The smell will carry me from indoors to lay silent and overwhelmed amongst the verdure, to experience this thing which I have so much difficulty describing, this thing that encompasses all the most beautiful pieces of my childhood, of my past, of my mind. The water and the fields, they will tug at the warmest parts of my soul, and embrace and uplift every bit of the person I have always been. They will beckon me back to a place that cannot be fathomed by any who have not been there. And I will go back."

Doing beautiful things, experiencing lovely places, spending time with wonderful people. All in the search for meaning.
I haven't written in some time. Perhaps to do so would be to admit to my own thoughts, and I think that scares me.
I’m waging war with myself.
And lately, it feels like I’m losing.11 commentsJuly 8th, 2011

"And while it may feel like you're in a stadium, in front of a crowd screaming that you must die, there are voices in that crowd, if you listen closely, screaming for you to live."
Photo taken by @AshleyAvenue7, who is capital-p Phenomenal. We've known each other for an unbelievably short amount of time considering the plethora of beautiful things we've seen and done together. And yet every day our friendship grows exponentially.
I can't express my love for this. Or for her. <38 commentsJuly 5th, 2011

Self.
It's a very interesting subject, you see.
One worth exploring.

"I see my future as a world of my own creation. My thoughts and ideas are the frame through which I see life, and I plan to continue to express my creative self through the written word and with an array of visual art. I will use my time to learn and produce, to explore and experience. I want my influence to have a sincere and colossal impact on everything I touch. I will use everything that has been given to me to inspire others. I will reach the fullness of my own potential."
This was my entry for the "Frame My Future" scholarship contest. I didn't make it through to the finalists, but you all should go take a look those who did and vote on your favorite. I trust Dailybooth's judgment in choosing the most deserving entries. (:
