Windows XP? They didn't have Windows 98?

fwiw, you can download windows 7 off the internet for free. It's much better.

Windows xp was the greatest ever operating system ever. No wait probaly windows 95 was. I loved 7 when it first came out but now I have used it I am not a huge fan. Okay so its better than vista was and better than the current mac offering. Its just got far to many features that annoy me. Its hard to explain I guess I think it tries to be to clever and fancy and I find things that are meant to be a shortcut more of a hinderance. My laptop just to date it came with me which was worse than aids.

If I tried to put 7 on it would die most likley. I am getting a new laptop stroke desktop stroke building my own desktop soon. Right now I am thinking of going the open source route. Mostly so even though it would frustrate me more than 7 I can pretend to be a true nerd at the same time

I agree with you, window 7 does try to be clever and the shortcuts are a hindrance. When I first got 7, I cluttered my task bar with shortcuts, but having shortcuts on your screen all the time, and not just on your desktop makes it easy for them to be clicked. Unlike the ones on your desktop you only have to click them one time. So now you're opening stuff you probably don't want opened. Also resizing windows is more difficult because of the snap feature.
