    i'm having the time of my life.

    these people are so amazing.
    life is amazing.

    so i did the pack test yesterday
    i missed the mark by 1:29 but i finished it and that's what my goal was.
    the pack test is a three mile walk (no running allowed) with a 45lb pack to be done in under 45 mins. and it's killer. i'm still very sore. lol

    after that about thirty of us took over a local bar and had an amazing night. every day i make a new awesome friend and tons of memories. it's weird how i've only been here for a few days but it feels like home.

    i look like a tool.

    so, i moved across the country :)
    the plane ride was awesome
    and the people of Southwest are wonderful. just so you know.
    today was my second day in the corps
    and it was mostly just more in processing.
    this^ is my uniform. minus the boots that come in next week.
    i have three roommates: Kaitlyn, Hannah and Emily
    and thank goodness we have our own attached bathroom.
    i'm remembering everyone else by either
    place of origin or personality. lol
    like Detroit who thinks it's appalling that i don't follow sports lol

    i live in an old va hospital
    next to a rehab, nursing home and metal facility. lol
    there are tons of deer and one albino, lots of rude geese
    and i haven't gotten the chance to go to the store
    tshirts aren't very good substitutes for towels.
    right now i'm in the Buffalo 2 pod but that'll change next week
    after the firefighting endurance test which i plan to take.

    crappy quality i know, but mobile + brutal crop.
    so i get on a plane in a couple days
    to fly across the country
    and i'm going to miss everyone so much.
    we went to see The Woman in Black tonight.
    it wasn't very good.
    saw The Grey the other night. i cried.
    i should be packing...

    Where do I begin?

    Well, I was accepted into AmeriCorps NCCC!
    I will be moving across the country in less than a week O.O
    i. am. terrified. lol

    It seems to have come at the oddest time. I've just become really close with new friends and it's killing me (and them) that I'm going to be gone for so long.

    This weekend has been full of heartbreak and joy. A childhood friend of mine passed away and it hit me hard. He was an awesome person and a joy to be in the presence of and he's just gone too soon. But I'm at peace in the knowledge of where he is now.

    I owe so much to Tyler, Drew, Ben, and Aron for helping me through that and just being there for me. Especially Tyler. I don't know how in the world I'm going to get on that plane without him. He's been such a godsend recently.

    I'm in no condition to show my face
    so have a look at Alison.
    I got to see her in The Kills perform on Saturday
    at a beautiful old theatre in Kansas City.
    It was absolutely amazing.
    They even did a cover of Patsy Cline's "Crazy"

    Today I ordered Black Keys tickets,
    confirmed tickets for Trivium, In Flames, Veil of Maya & Kyng,
    made ugly oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with Aron,
    and registered to be a bone marrow donor

    the Kills in 14 hours!
    i should be asleep. O.O

    So I spent my evening with Aron
    watching sitcoms and chasing cats.
    and trying to master the voodoo that is makeup
    as someone who has been doing the same
    makeup routine since I was 13
    this is smokey eye nonsense is beyond me.
    any tips from the feminine side of dailybooth?
    i'm thinking about doing it for the show tomorrow.
    so how did i do? is it a no or a go?

    *I just caught Scout trying to eat my eye shadow. ew.

    i hate winter.

    so i've been cuddled up with Aron
    watching American Horror Story and the Big Bang Theory
    making recipes off of the internet and ordering Chinese
    this past week mostly.
    (hence the lack of makeup and messy hair)
    Saturday we're driving 3 hours to see VV and Hotel
    Aron's promised me some pre-birthday merch
    (less than 2 weeks to go til i'm not paying subcharges at the door!)
    aaaaaand that's about it. lol

    new piercings!
    2 micro dermal anchors on my nape :]

    Grace and I spent the day getting needles shoved through our skin (she got her conch redone), eating Chinese food (heck yes pepper steak lo mein) and gossiping in the coffee shop while our guys practiced their rock star skills. lol

    Aron and I also went to a new antique shop and got some vinyl and paperbacks. :]

    winter is in my bones

    nothing too terribly exciting to report for these days.
    still madly in love. 1,453 days and counting.
    8 days until the Kills.
    19 days until I no longer wake up
    with faded x's on the back of my hands.
    i wish i knew the countdown til
    the next phase of my life.
    i'd welcome it about now.

    In other news I had a really great sandwich
    and I cut a little girl's hair today.
