    FRIDAY THE 13TH…

Livefeeders say hi why don't ya?

The Nintendo 64 was a big part of my day. Not playing it but relieving my love for it through writing this http://shaunrichens.tumblr.com/post/947958934/top-5-64 Have a quick look, maybe even read it all. What do you think?

Also I kind of got myself into the creepy nature of this day by playing through the first two chapters of the awesome survival horror game Dead Space. It’s my 4th play though but dammit if I didn’t still get worried and panicked by it. Maybe I need to man up.

What are you little mainacs doing with your Friday the 13th?
Did you ever play Nintendo 64? What was your favourite game?

Nothing to do with the day or anything to do with my booth, but heck this song rules so so much. Blister In The Sun by The Violent Femmes

A MODERN WAY OF LETTING GO.

This booth is technically for Wednesday the 11th but i am putting it up late so my blackberry tells me its Thursday.

Shopping was a big part of my day. I invested in three new movies, Leon, Blindness and Amelie all of which are great flicks so worth checking out if you want or get a chance. Also I got two CD's (pictured) yes i still buy CD's I have a thing for it. This evening i went for dinner and to the movies with a friend, i saw the new Tom Cruise movie Knight and Day... It was flat average. Perhaps it doesn't help that i have a slight distain for one Mr Cruise but i didn't really think the role suited him.

For the last few days i have been writing a piece for my blog. The topic is what movie character do i most relate to. The question seemed straight forward enough, turns out its not. Its got me thinking. How can i break myself down to a character you only get to know for upwards of two hours. They are all two dimensional in comparison to the deep rich complexity of real life people. What i have come to see is that its not the big things that makes us relate. Its the small things. For me This comes down to two characters, both played my Michael Cera, take what you will form that. The characters in question are Nick (From Nick and Norahs Infinite PLaylist) and Scott Pilgrim (From the Scott Pilgrim movie) As for nick its four small things. 1- He has the cure as a ring tone, more importantly the best Cure song Boys Don't Cry. 2- He has a love for wearing jeans for slightly too long. 3- His absolute love for making mix tapes and art work for them. Lastly at 4- He's a none drinker. Pilgrim its one thing. He's a slacker still trying to find that reason to push his life forward. Hello me. This is just how I am. In the grande scale of things they are all small, but thats there importance they are greater than the sum of there parts. They together become who I am.

Sorry about that DailyBooth kinda went off on one there. Now its your chance to talk.

    Question Time :
1- What small things make yo who you are?
2- What movie, book or Tv characters are you like?

5PLAYERS, HOME ILL AND THE BEACH

As I am home ill today, me at the beach is what a present you with. It was one of the most fun days of my year so far and I didn’t booth with any of the pictures, so today seems fitting to squeeze one in.

The beach in question is Barry Island beach in Wales, anyone who has seen the show Gavin and Stacey will know it will. It was such a lush day out, I was with my lady friend and made some of the best sand castles I think the world has ever seen.

Being at home all day trying to get better I have spent the time reading a new blog site. Its called 5PLAYERS. Five games journalists who write about games for a living now write about games for fun. The site has just started up by the standard of writing so far is amazing so worth checking out.

My audio selection today is the latest episode of the PSM3 podcast. Its just guys who love games, its always funny, interesting and full of personal views on games. If you like go and subscribe for free on iTunes.

YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED FOR TERMINATION…

80’s action movies are in my top five favourite things of all time. The other four being my lady friend, Video games, Comics and southern fried chicken (I am a man of simply pleasures.)

The reason I mention 80’s action flicks is due to the fact that I spent my Saturday night in London to see a screening of the original and in my view best Terminator film. James Cameron was on top of his form with this slice of tense, full out action flick, throwing in some jump scare moments normally found in slasher horror movies and big sci fi ideas he made a flick wholly original.

Admittedly the special effects didn’t hold up to much today but the plot, ideas and awesome shootouts more than made up for this. The big screen is this kind to this pure piece of cinema nostalgia.

How did you spend your weekend’s dailybooth?
What’s your favourite kind of movie genre?

    RESTARTS AND UNSKIPPABLE INTROS

Ok so I am watching The Breakfast club over my breakfast (I say breakfast I am just drinking cold cherry coke, I need the sugar rush to get me going.) This movie is so freaking sweet, classic 80’s movie. If you haven’t seen it I urge you to stop reading and to go and rent or buy a copy, you will not regret it.

Side note, at the start of every DVD I own they have those ‘you wouldn’t steal a car? So why would you steal a movie? Piracy is a crime’ adverts. I think the main reason people pirate films is for the simple fact that your stupid advert is UNSKIPABLE, I have brought and paid for your movie like you want. I don’t mind this clearly I wanna watch it but don’t force me to sit through your advert every time I want to.

In other movie related news. Finally I saw Remember Me, rented the DVD last night. My verdict emotionally charged and well performed. Really enjoyed the whole flick. Mr Robert ‘Twilight’ you are forgiven for these teen hype movies for this powerful piece. My hat is tipped to you good sir.

Today I feel like I am going to super nerd out. I have weird urge to restart my game on Poke’mon Heart Gold. Not just that though I wanna play through and use a squad of six I have never had before to make it more interesting. I understand this must sound super nerdy to some people its just how I roll I guess.

    Who’s your favourite Pokemon?
Who are you most like from the breakfast club?
Lastly, Remember Me? Seen it? Like it? Hate it? Thoughts really?

IN A ZOMBIE APOCOLYPSE MAKES SURE TO BRING A SUNFLOWER…

So I have been a busy boy again of late.

I went shopping in London on Saturday with my best mates, JB,JPM,Janey and Samantha. Had a blast, went to TGI Fridays for the first time ever and rocked an amazing bacon cheese burger then I hit up Orbital comics in Covent gardens, quite possible my favourite comic store of all time. I picked up The Walking Dead Volume 12 and Invincible Volume 11.

Have yet to read them, as I was busy spending my Sunday morning reading Scott Pilgrim Volume 6. I got up the earliest I have gotten up on a Sunday in a long time to read it and it was worth even second of lost sleep, funny, heart warming and breaking in equal measure, action packed and full of a few surprises. Side note and on a totally geek level the exterior artwork was beyond amazing. Shout out to Bryan Lee O Malley’s extra artists on this book John Kantz and Aaron Ancheta check them out.

My Sunday evening was spent seeing the new A Team movie, if all you want is an insane OTT action movie then this deliveries. Of most note however was the performance of one Sharlto Copley of District 9 fame he was simply wonderful as Murdock. He can surely only go on to bigger and bigger things.

When I got home I decided to add some new games to my iPod touch, I went with Angry birds, come on it’s the biggest selling itunes app of all time and its clear to see why. Fun addictive and so simply to grasp but impossible to ever master. Then I got Alive-4-Ever which is basically a top down run and gun game. Its kinda Left4Dead on my iPod and brilliantly deep for a handheld game. Lastly I got Plants VS Zombies. This was a massive mistake. Not cus the game is rubbish, the game kicks butt. It was a mistake because after downloading and playing for 4 hours straight only turning it off at three this morning due to my iPods battery dying I realised that this game was going to rule my life for a while.

    Ok enough talk from me.
    How are you guys?
    What your favourite iTunes App/game?
Have you seen the A Team movie? If so what did you think?

A slice of fired gold British pop punk for you today. Enjoy.

    GHOSTS, GHOULS AND FORKED ROADS

Long time no speak dailybooth. How has everyone been? Anything changed?

The reason for my lack of Boothing is down to lots and lots of plans lately.
. Had a night out for a friends birthday
. Had a day at the beach
. Went to London to see the play Ghost Stories
. Saw Splice at the cinema
. Been playing a lot of the game Blur
. Catching up with T.V Shows
(How I Met Your Mother, Twin Peaks and The Wire.)

The use of Ghosts and Ghouls in my title is in reference to me seeing the play Ghost Stories. Written by the man behind the crazy yet brilliant t.v show The League of Gentleman and directed by the guy who does Derran Browns stage shows, Ghost Stories is a theatrical lecture on paranormal activity with the professors three most hard to explain supernatural events told on stage. The acting is superb, visually brilliant (The entire theatre is decorated to incorporate the shows theme) and it is genuinely laugh at loud funny and jump out of your skin scary. If you every get the chance it is so worth seeing.

The forked roads is however a reference to life in general. I am at one of those stages in life where I could still try and do anything I wanted but I am not sure where to head next. Its all-very exciting yet amazingly scary in equal measure.

How have you spent your week Dailybooth?

    TOYS, MOVIES AND PARTIES

Firstly how do I look Dailybooth?
Off out for my mate Gary’s 22nd birthday bash this evening? Am I looking fly enough for a night out? I do hope so.

Now that is out of the way the important information that I say Toy Story 3 last night. Now I have seen Inception twice now and is has blown my mind on both occasions… But Toy Story 3 melted my heart; Pixar can make animated toys seem more human then even the finest actor. Possible the best of the three maybe even the best Animated movie of all time.

How are you looking today Dilaybooth?
What is your favourite animated movie?
