In the order of your arrivals, welcome to;
@Phainopepla95 @MissLoto @Pages2Type @Hondosan
You make me feel special :) I am honoured!

On my fridge the other day, I spied this creature climbing up.
They are a curious wee beasty, stick insects. I wonder do they grow new legs or does this one have to live with five legs now? I guess it's an Insec until it does grow a new one...

I hope everything is going well for you all out there,
it is a funny/sad world we live in
Well it's a serious/beautiful world
but life is funny/sad, kind of like a kalydascope
we're all simple, colourful, little shapes
but when we land in our lives
we become a mesmirising vision of fantasy.

Sad we cannot see the beautiful colourful little shapes we really are!
Sad that so many get lost, in the fantastic illusion.

    I always think it's sad when these guys get stepped on, ironically, because they look like twigs.

    @Opheliaglass I know, it must be hard to be an insect, and I'm sure if you take time to know them they are pretty nice. That's a pretty caring thing to say Ophelia :)

    Often, these are the result of bird attacks. Perhaps they don't taste good or it escaped by sacrificing two legs. Another scenario: a bird mistook it for a twig, tried to gather it up for a nest, and it escaped by sacrificing two legs. Regardless, what a wonderful opportunity you had, @Serendip, to observe close up an example of nature's answer to the question, "What's NOT for lunch?"

    Oh, stop laughing me!!! I am just thinking of a bird trying to use it as a twig, that is sadly ironic!! But @Phainopepla95 you mis-count I think, it has only lost one leg!

    Usually taking pictures of insects is difficult because they are always running away, but this guy was like a statue. I took several pictures because with macro photography, depth of focus is apalling, as you can see in this picture, and stuck them all together so it is almost entirely in focus.

    I must say, Peter -- your little forum here is one of the most interesting stops on the web for me these days. I also like your repeated use of images other than self portraits in building what amounts to... a self-portrait.

    and enjoyed it very much, you make a good roving reporter! :)

    @phainopepla95 glad to hear it, I was getting tired of going back to the picture to compulsively count the legs to check I hadn't missed something, haha :)
