Haha My dad did that once too. Though in comparison to you making a plaster because you cut yourself(?), my dad used masking tape in order to keep his thumb attached, as inthe morning he dropped a big crate on it & it fell off. His reasoning for not going to a&e until the evening when my mum dragged him there was that he had a really busy day ahead of him and lots to do.
