    / Hey guys;
I have been super busy of late.
Last time we spoke I'd just been to one of the greatest concerts of my life since then I saw Arthur Rigby and the Baskervilles lay down some new tracks at The Proud in Camden; I entertained the siblings on underground cocktail bars and smokepit meals; I worked 24/7 on work I'm still slaving away at but most importantly I started shooting on our new short movie "Along The Way"

It's sure to be tepid and disappointing as any low film inevitably is but when you're filming it takes up so very much of your life you simply must come to love it.

So; I will keep you posted on our bromantic comedy as it goes through production and hope you can share just a little of the excitement with me.

Why don't you tell me what you think of a couple of the songs on the soundtrack kindly provided to us:

/ I had the most magical time.

    Russian Red

    Oh my life.

    I simply never thought I'd get to see her live;

    all the nights I lay awake mesmurized;
the things I fel in love with to her songs the summers that were brightened and I never imagined spending a night wrapped comfortably in an old chapel with Russian Red; Miss Lourdes Hernadez seranading every part of my loving being. Accompanied by her band and two members of Belle and Sebastian this was just wildly fantastic and everything I love. Quite probably the second best concert I've enjoyed in all my years.
Next time with the right woman by my side I may just forget about other sounds!

The support was also exciting: a new voice from Scotland. She was simply adorable and wondrfully talented girl called Rachel Sermanni who you must look out for!

What's the best music concert you've ever been to guys???

/ Ahhh signs we're getting old; struggling with shooters and memeing them after.

Seriously though there's a lot of birthdays going on around these parts and a lot of discussion of age.

Between my close friends we've clearly all been bitten by this paranoia of misspent youth and premature old age. As if we're already too far gone to enjoy what's left.

Which of course is proposterous as we're all relatively young - though against the shockingly ever falling average age of this site I'm deffinately pushing that middle age limit-

I suspect it might be the January blues and being in the opening stages of a new year or the way we're rolling through our twenties alone and broken by jobs.
The thing is... I kind of like it.

I like that we're not just usless kids anymore.
I like that we get to consider what's next and how to deal with it.
I like that we get to deal with the same problems and insecurities and I like that we're doing it autonomously yet together.
That's the one I think I like the most I like that' we're actually growing older together - slowly for sure and with a way to go- but together none the less.

Does anyone get what I mean?
The way highschool friendships turn into life long adult relationships where you look after each other; make time to enjoy the new hardships we all like to complain about together.

I'm no dinner party throwing douchebag in his 40's but I can't help but enjoy the love and admiration people show each other as they go out alone and still pick the same faces to be around.

Maybe I just need another little shot of some golden tequila...

What shooters get your nights going?

    xoxo

/ Don't mind those tired eyes, they're just looking for the sleep.

It's been a long few days of school work and other such laborious chores with more still to follow but they were boring for me and I'd only imagine doubly so for you so I'll move on from them.

What I did get from them in moments in between was a chance to see a couple of movies -for both academic and personal gratification- which had been waiting for a watch.

The first I watched yesterday; and notably alone with little good humour in me which probably goes a long way to accounting for my reactions. I say that because it was the latest film by one of my favourite 'persons' Miranda July. In just about every creative output she offers there's always been this sincerity; like an honesty that's sometimes even a little too honest it hurts well that nature has always been so relatable. So when watching "The Future" last night I possibly just wished she weren't so relatable or the film just stayed out of my heart because by the credit roll I was sad heavy and nursing a headache. I do't know the film was bad but the conditions that weathered to my viewing it lead me to really disliking the whole experience.

The second film then was really just as big a shocker as I'd gone into the first expecting to feel lifted and peaceful whereas the second I forsaw an irritibility in sentimentality and whining, I was again wrong. "50/50" was such a warm, emotional, shaking ride that hit every emotional button yet felt like a process, a journey; opposed to a burden. It was a beautiful accesable earnest story that somehow brings a smile.
Plus -not that I'm opposed to July's slightly more androgenous appeal- Anna Kendrick always makes my heart *and other unmention parts of my anatomy* swoon.

Anyway I'm blathering on for the sake as to ask you guys both what poigniant movies have you seen of late?

    and

What are some movies that always score a deep emotional connection with you??

    xoxo

I always dreamt of being an academic. I never knew how different that life is to being a student. I wanted leather patches and corduroy trousers, self beaten volumes of carefully studied port sodden textbooks. What I got was kids in costumes in dirty clubs, debt collection letters delivered for life and last minute winging it; staying up through the night.

It's been a horrible couple of weeks for work with just more coming right at us; so this is like a last hurrah before the word count takes its toll.

So anyone want to share a few of their favourite pick up lines?
    Help us guys out!

/ So I missed Christmas I get that; and I know it's no longer the night before christmas.
It's just I missed a lot of things.
It's no longer 2011 and I missed the whole latter half of that on here.

So here's a final fond memory of the year as I look into 2012 with the intention -call it an online resolution if you will- to get back into the booth because if nothing else you lot are the very best of the online community and I miss y'all terribly eh :)

So Friday 13th eh; anyone spooked out or getting scary?

"Country is as Country does" Said our lady butterfly the first lady of the Grand Ole Opry!

Dolly Parton and what a spectacle!

Yeah so we saw her last night and did it all vip and such!
Was a birthday treat for Momma so was nice to spoil her and do it all right.

This photo is super damn awkward and lame but I realised something growing up; having struggled and been down many different roads with a creative lifestyle, the one bearin on my compass that never strayed and helped through is family. It means close on just about everything and if you got a good momma and a good family, well then you can be pretty sure you grow up being a good timing guy or gal. So I'm proud of awkward family photo's cause family should be the one thing y'all meant to be a'proud of!

Hands up if y'all love your Mommas!

    My first picture book!

    Eeeeeeep!

"Imagined Together" By Max Carne, Illustrated by Annabel Bamfield

This is just the proof sort of thing.

It's based on a short script I wrote last year which was turned into an exploration of juvenile approach to fiction, learning and social relationships.

Other such nonsense but it was sweet and fun and I'm so happy to see it come to be.

I've tried my heart at many things but children's literature has always been my heart's smile.

I want nothing more than a life of magics, imaginations and playful worlds.

    What's your favourite bedtime story???

    eeeeep
