It's been a really weird day. I was pretty happy throughout the most of it. What with uncharacteristic Scottish sunshine, picnics, and some (partially failed) urban exploring with a good friend. :)
Then I got home. Checked my email. No internship. But they want me on their team for GI? I don't know, I think I've been easily disappointed career-wise again these days. You're either overqualified or still too young. Then what DO you want from us? :(
I don't ever expect anything to be set in stone. You can plan and plan your career until you're blue in the face. But I'm getting to the point in my life where all I want is to be out of school, with a steady income and a little flat. I don't care if it's a tiny room in the corner of a tenement, I just want it to be my own.
So exhausted. I don't even care anymore... I'm jettisoning OUT of my painting workshop no later than 2:00pm tomorrow. (I can't paint for shit anyway.) But really, this rescheduling shtick is none too amusing. I am going home, napping, shooting to the artist talk at six, and getting the f**k out of Glasgow for the weekend.
This finally arrived today! The Karelia's "Divorce at High Noon" as released by Roadrunner Records, Glasgow 1997.
I did some research into the release number printed onto the actual disc, and found out that this particular CD is, in fact, an original 1997 print of the album. It was one of a few several hundred discs originally sold by the band.
Since this case shipped from within the UK, and seeing as the band was unknown and never toured outside Glasgow, I think it's safe to say that this album is back in its rightful home-- the city from where it was produced and sold... My city! :)
In comparison to the 2004 re-release: The cover art is different, the disc itself is green, the jewel case is cracked, and the inner sleeve jacket lists a young Alex Kapranos as "Alex Huntley". Just two pounds. Gem of a find.
