At the Okinawan festival with my friend, Mahoro! She's from Japan so she explained a lot of things to me. It was just a fun day, eating and meandering and then participating in a giant bon-dance.
I was kicked out of the kitchen and told to dig up the blackberry bushes. Since we don't have blackberry bushes in Hawaii, I was very frightened when I saw how vicious and thorny they were. That's when I realized my family doesn't actually love me.
