So yeah. pay £12 trainfare for the possibility of my phone getting the homebutton fixed.
My mum when she was 18/19ish with her mum.
My nan passed away in her sleep last week on Tuesday evening, my mum being the last to see her. the only member of family to visit her that day.
Nan had suffered through physical and mental health. Over the last few years she’s battled through so much, and surprised everyone every time she rose again for her addiction to long walks. She had good days, she had her bad but she was always aware of the care and love she received. She may have misplaced our names but she knew the love was genetic. Apologetic when she thought she wasn’t good enough, questioning her ability as a mother. She had no need to apologise but she was aware she wasn’t physically able to help other people. She was understanding and grateful toward other people caring for her. Nursing her partner to the end herself she knew no end to caring for others, helping strangers through her life as a Samaritan and providing extra support towards her fellow Samaritans, joining many groups to help others - she knew only goodness in her life. She’s always strived for happiness in others to find inner peace, even though she had to strive to provide for herself she was selfless. Always smiling and scared of her own mind.
Her last days she seemed strong and willing to sleep, unwilling to eat in front of visitors to prove that she was devoted to them and wanted to focus on the time she had with them. In hindsight almost ready to sit with Jesus, in peace with herself and in the place she’d lived for. She’s been in a battle for a long time, she more then anyone deserves the peace now. Even through her strife she’s always been supportive of all, mostly with tea and fresh cream cakes. And anyone who knew May would tell you that her capacity for drinking tea was legendary.
