We woke up at four in the morning, bundled, spent $24.96 of my $25 birthday gift card on food, then drove up a mountain. On the way, I almost hit a deer. A big one. A really big one. A really big one with really big antlers. But I was chill, and no creatures, human or otherwise, were injured.
When we got to the top it was still mostly dark, except for the rainbow spanning half of the horizon. We got out and looked at all the city lights below and spent our time waiting for the sun by running around on stairways and rooftops and taking pictures.
The few moments after the sun showed its skin, my dear brothers sang happy birthday to me in the worst, most laugh-inducing tones manageable.
We had our picnic breakfast in my car while listening to Coldplay, then spent the rest of our time jumping around cliff sides and taking epic pictures.
It was the perfect morning.

What happened on the best birthday you've ever had?
And have you ever hit an animal while driving?
It is now my official duty to pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Unfortunately for them, all my partying happened on the weekend, so the only costume they'll get from me is "20-something With Work to Get Done".
I got the sexy version. You can't see the mini skirt and the heels.
R.I.P crazy curly hair. You were very dear to me, and these limp locks are far from welcome. Hopefully you and your unmanageable and over-sized, yet fun and different presence will be with me again in the future.
