TOWNIE: Another thing we did was teach people how to make cranes. Lots of people got involved, like our teacher's adult evening class, and with the help of some serious origami enthusiasts we know, we made it to 1000. I'll show you what we did with them in a later post. IT IS AWESOME.

TOWNIE: Ok, the first picture was of the same thing, but this one's better. We just grabbed some unfortunate guy we know and were like heeeey, take my camera up to the 3rd floor and take som pictures for us!
Luckily he's nice and did it. :P
So this picture is from some Tuesday at the end of March. Obviously everyone in the class wanted to raise some money for the Red Cross after the eathquake and tsunami, so we started off by doing a little speech in each assembly and then collecting money afterwards, whilst organising a 'Japan Event' later in March (the pictures)
There were lots of stalls doing interesting things, but for now I'll just concentrate on the stall I was in charge of, namely (well you can tell from the pictures) the CAKE STALL.
And what a cake stall it was.
Now I've always been a fan of the cake sales that go on at my college, for the first half of the year there is literally at least one every week, by students saving up money for trips and charity and so on. And I went to every single one (when I had money), because I just love cake, innit. :p
I didn't think I'd ever hold on, but I did, and I held one of epic proportions, haha. I have seen so many cake sales, and I'm not even trying to blow my own trumpet at all when I say that mine was DEFINITELY the best.
You can see the awesome scale from the picture!
Not that I made all of those cakes though. In fact I only made two tins! It was because the cake sale was contributed to by many of our teacher's teacher friends.
Plus, when I arrived at college to drop off my cakes, it turned out that the cooking club - (two students and a teacher) had stayed late the night before making cakes - they were amazing cakes, too! They were all glittery. :D
And many people just came with cakes for us to sell throughout the day. Aww I'll leave some pictures of the cakes for you in the comments.
By the way, on this date last year we were at the Korean restaurant!

TOWNIE: Ok, booth No.2. :D
I wasn't sure what to post for this because there were no pics of filming, but here's what we did afterwards. (basically, we ate doughnuts)
Ok, music update.... you'd be ashamed of me, Farmer. My tastes have gone so bad.... arashi and beyond into the chavvy ridiculousness.
But hey, I don't mind :)
Still, I was listening to that stuff and I came across this, by Super Junior M (that's the one that debuted in China)
And I thought of you immediately when I found this song because it's like SUNNY and happiness and stuff like that which we listened to in Anglesey :D

Maybe you'll like this one too?
Did we listen to the original? I can't remember... :( I know I did.

TOWNIE: Hello, Farmer. I didn't do this in two days because I wasn't at home :/ BUT onwards and henceforth!
AND I just typed practically an essay for this post, but I pressed publish without attaching a picture and it all disappeared. Ugh... but again, onwards and henceforth. (I don't think that's even a saying, actually)
This picture is of me and Trang just before we left the house to film Fran's 5 minute film in Manchester.
It was one of her courseworks for Film Studies, and she came up with the biggest idea in her class and did it entirely in Japanese with subtitles.
Obviously her choice of actors and actresses was limited to the six people in our Japanese class, and once more, to five, since she had to be both camerawoman and director.... so in other words she used me and Trang. :)
So Trang became a Japanese girl for the day and I... was a hardcore office multilingual businesswoman (my future? lol) haha, I really tried to pull it off, but I don't think acting is my thing after all lol.
So I got out my old audi clothes and Fran took great pleasure in forcibly dolling Trang up, haha.
The plotline was that Trang is my boss' niece, who's visiting the UK, and as I happen to speak Japanese I am ordered to give her a tour around Manchester. Basically, although this businesswoman speaks many languages, she is a little culturally stunted, and giving this tour enriches my life a bit.
Research included asking our Japanese teacher and assistant about their first impressions of the UK. One of them was 'men eat chocolate here' so we got that in!!
She got an A in the end. :D I haven't uploaded the film yet because I've forgotton to ask everyday for a month or so lol.
I WILL GET IT DONE THIS TUESDAY WITHOUT FAIL
HOWEVER, here is the outtakes vid I put together when I was with Fran in the Green Room as she edited it all together... i needed something to do lol

I really hope you don't find this before I post the link to the film lol.... some of it isn't funny without seeing the film xD Ah well...0 commentsJune 12th, 2011

TOWNIE: So after a while Trang and Fran turned up and Trang's face was painted, but insisted that I write 'Arashi' instead of 'Rabbit'.
Hehe.... what else did I have to tell you....?
OH YEAH I did my A2 Japanese exam yesterday. It went pretty well, but no way did I get an A*. Hmpf. But oh well.
So for one of the essays I studied a story about a monk with a long nose. Here's a summary.... the animation is kind of scary though!

TOWNIE: Ok, here begins today's Doublebooth, haha.
This was Chinese New Year - I was helping out with facepainting. As you can see. It's the Year of the Rabbit, so we did rabbits.
The kids were on the whole cooperative, but we had a few cryers xD
After a while, the kid stopped coming and the fireworks started so we watched those, and then I went for a meal with Andi from the China trip, who I hadn't seen since, because she moved to Leeds. It was delicious!0 commentsJune 9th, 2011
