Accidentally went shopping.

I have new shoes. Boots. Whatevers. They're black and pretty and make my ankles look thin. I love them. Oh, and a new coat. And. Err. A skirt. And tights. BUT HEY, now I can look good for all sorts of Christmas parties. Hopefully!

Also, I've lost 4,8 kg in two weeks. I don't count the first couple of weeks, because that's mostly water, but woah. I had to go out and buy myself a pair of trousers that doesn't fit so I'd have further motivation. Motivation basically runs my life right now, it's hard to come by, but hey. Something must be going right.

TWO questions for you guys today!
1) When you buy clothes, do you care about brand or price (as in "it was rrrreally expensive", not "I can't afford that")?
2) How do you motivate yourself?

    It's all about the price. The low, low price.

    @gossipguy17 Not brand conscious, then? :P Glad to hear it! Too many guys just buy expensive shit because they haven't got a clue what actually looks good, and trust designer labels to fix that for them..

    1. Brand, not really although I do tend to go into the same shops but only because I know the sizes fit me and I like the clothes, etc., I'm not fussed about telling people where it's from. I don't tend to think more expensive = better but I won't buy things below a certain price just because it is impossible for anyone to be paid appropriately for a tshirt costing £2 or whatever and also I tend to buy clothes and wear them for a couple of years and cheap stuff just breaks after a few months...

    2. I don't.

    1) Nope. I buy it because I like it. I prefer it if it's cheaper... the price is more of an influence than anything. I don't stick to any one brand or anything.
    2) Motivate myself in general? Tell myself I'm going to be amazing at something... then once I get started, I'm all good ^__^

    2. What is this "motivation" you speak of?

    How come we don't get to see the new boots, then? (Or the new coat?) :P

    Answers:
    1) I don't judge clothes by their price, but I do recognise that there's often a correlation between price and quality.
    2) How do I motivate myself? Infrequently.

    @waltron_2point0 Good point, too cheap is never good. Quality over quantity and all that.

    Me either.

    @tismrwells Good. :) That's the mark of someone who knows what they want to look like, methinks.

    That's a good way of doing it! I don't do that. I start out deciding that I'll be awesome, then crash and burn, and then pick up the pieces and see things through. :P

    @nonnankobra Yeeeeah, I can't either. XD

    I don't know, it might be a bird? Or a small country?

    @manek43509 They're downstairs and I'm not. :P

    There is often, but not always.

    How do you get through, then? Do you just have a bunch of motivation stashed away? :P

    I don't care about the brand, in so far as I'd rather not have some logo on my clothes just because it's XXX brand. But there are particular designers I quite like.

    I won't think something is good just because it's expensive, but the good quality things generally aren't cheap, so I'm ok with spending more for something good, if I have to.

    Like @manek43509, I don't judge clothes on their price. If I like something then I will usually buy it. That is, of course, if I can justify it! I have a weakness for good quality shirts.

    I'm lucky in that I've always been able to motivate myself pretty easily. I take after my Dad, in that respect. He is one of the most driven men I have ever met.

    And I don't know how I motivate myself. If I have something to lose I try harder, I guess.

    If something was really expensive I tend to either use it every day to try and get my money's-worth, or the exact opposite and never use it to try and keep it pristine... Depends what it is really. Shoes the former, bags the latter usually. They're the only things I would be prepared to fork out for!

    I'm not very good with motivation :/ If I'm writing an essay I try to reward/bribe myself with stuff like, ok if I write 200 more words, I get to have a cup of tea. Stuff like that :)
