A marionette is a puppet controlled from above using wires or strings. A marionette's puppeteer is called a manipulator. Marionettes are operated with the puppeteer hidden or revealed to an audience by using a vertical or horizontal control bar in different forms of theatres or entertainment venues...
If Death were to walk amoung us. See us. Hear us. Touch us. Taste us. Smell us. Love Us. Hate us.
Be us.
Would he tug so hard when the time came? Would he bow so graciously as our performance ended? and walk away so easily as we lay limp next to every other Marionette in his suitcase?
Would we let him?

"Now, to pry into roots, to finger slime,To stare, big-eyed Narcissus, into some springIs beneath all adult dignity. I danceTo see myself, to set the darkness Echoing."
Seamus Heaney. 'Personal Helicon'
Helicon, is a divine mountain mentioned in Greek Mythology said to harbour two springs which were sacred to the 9 Muses of Apollo. The Muses were manifested to help the world disremember evil and relieve sorrows of the broken. The 9 Muses became the representatives of poetry, the arts and science : Calliope, Muse of epic song, Clio, Muse of history, Euterpe, Muse of lyric song, Thalia, Muse of comedy and bucolic poetry, Melpomene, Muse of tragedy, Terpsichore, Muse of dance, Erato, Muse of erotic poetry, Polyhymnia, Muse of sacred song, and Urania, Muse of astronomy. Mt Helicon, in turn, became a place considered by many to ignite passion and inspire those who endeavoured within the arts and intellectualities of life.
Narcissus, in Greek mythology was a hunter from the territory of Thespiae in Boeotia who was renowned for his beauty. He was exceptionally proud, in that he disdained those who loved him. As divine punishment he fell in love with his own reflection in a spring, not realizing it was merely an image, and he wasted away to death, not being able to leave the beauty of his own reflection.
Echo, a nymph mentioned in the myth, who possesses an unfortunate curse that only allows her to repeat what others say, falls in love with the vain youth named Narcissus.
What a life. wasting away infront of a destiny that isn't your own.

Hi there ^_^
I'm New...
As far as introductions go, the benign (usually) mashing of oral inflections i have been called since birth is Nobel (no-buhl)... (my name lol)
i always tend to be the odd one out... (as the picture above dictates)... but that's not to say i have no social connections, i'm quite social ^_^ ... i just don't necessarily fit the usual cultural constucts framing our society. Although, considering the amount of angsty teens screaming (often literally... though that style of music may be described better as - growling uncontrollably into a microphone >_>) That they are different, i may actually "identify" with a growing minority in which i quite possibly will become exactly the same as every other screaming individualist... that aside... >_>
Im a performing artist, mostly dance and acting, however, i have recently begun singing and love it to bits!
My favourite subject at school (grade 12) is English. i enjoy it, i believe, because it offers some reassurance that the world actually contains brilliance... and beauty. integrity. expression. hope. and maybe, (it's a little clichè) just maybe, some love.
considering this love of english i harbour, i thought it only fitting that i take up both extension 1, and extension 2 english studies throughout my final year of highschool. Mostly to pursue my creative endeavors. (so don't let my subject choices fool you... i can't spell flawlessly nor have a read a dictionary... i quite simply love artistic expression).
apart from my performing aspirations and academia... i accomodate a particularily geeky side to my personality. whether this be watching excessive amounts of anime, playing computer games (on or offline ^_^), watching a myraid of fantasy / sci fi movies / series (or reading books) or being irrepairably scarred by /b/ ... any 1337 adventure is fine by me... (yeah... it's somewhat sad).
So, if you bothered to read that, and got all the way down here... it is very nice to meet you! ^_^
enjoy my pics!14 commentsNovember 18th, 2010
