crappy picture, sorry!
first layer of my skirt for emilie autumn's concert. I will make the same thing, but a bit shorter and put it on top of this one.
yayy, halfway !
I had so many trouble with my sewing machine. It still sews small loops in the back so I'm not really happy with that, but at least it's still securely attached.
-
awesome distress look!!
If your sewing machine is making loops on the back of your fabric, it means that the top needle tension is too loose :) Try tightening it or rethreading to see if it fixes the problem! -
it's already her style. But are you going to see her or are you going to make a emelie autumn consert? (sorry for the idiotic question)
-
@sparklewolfie : thanks for the advice, I've been fussing for days. but I even tried the highest tension (9) and it still gave loops. thne I changed into a new thread and the problem was solved, but only 10cm of perfect stitch later, the lower thread was empty and I respun it with the top thread and it gave loops again. I'm SO confused :/ any thoughts?
@shortshower: I don't exactly understand what you mean :/ but i'm going to her concert at the end of the month and I designed an outfit to be fitting. -
wow there's so many layers in the first layer lol..it must have taken forever!
-
It might be the bobbin tension, not the needle.
-
@lolitakaleita : haha yes, it's sooooo heavy ! but I was stupid as to not finish to top off properly so I have to put something over it now xD
@communistmuffin : how do you set that? (thank you so much already ;o;) -
If it is not the top needle then it is the bobbin tension being too tight (usually it is the top needle, so I said that first XD) There should be a little baby screw in the bobbin case and that is what controls the bobbin tension. You only need to adjust it a TINY bit. Try with maybe a quarter turn to loosen it with a screwdriver
-
@sparklewolfie : I don't know which screw to turn D:
-
this is the screw on my bobbin case. It tightens or loosens the plate on the outside of the bobbin.
-
This is the bobbin case for the industrial machines we use at school. It has two screws. The bigger one that I am pointing to is the one for controlling tension. The smaller one at the base of the plate further away from the thread hole is the one that is actually holding the plate on, so don't loosen that!

@sparklewolfie : thank you soooo much ;o; I hope it works x-x
-
@sparklewolfie : I found the screw and my screwdriver didn't fit. whut. I ended up using scissors. I screwed it a quarter turn looser and tried again, didn't change so I did another quarter and ended up unscrewing the entire thing so I screwed it back to the way it was. now I REALLY don't know what the problem is. thanks though ;o;

It looks lovely, I absolutly adore emilie autumn, but didn't get around to getting tickets :(
