No Nails.

The Field in front of me is filled with nails.
With you on the other end.
Behind us both a field of emptiness, no nails.
I move forward into the field of nails, to get closer to you.
The nails hurt but I keep moving.
You turn the other way and go down the easy path, away from me.
I stand and stare.
Hang my head and cry, in the field of nails.
I turn around and begin to leave.
To go down the path that was behind me, no nails.
