ugh i hate all the pictures I took of this cake. I made it at a friend's house and there was no good lighting.. plus people were waiting to eat the cake and having me carry from room to room and holding it under lights wasn't going over very well. By the time I decided to settle for a flash much of the cake had been eaten.
Anyways, Its lemon vanilla cake with lemon curd between the layers (oh my god homemade lemon curd is the best) and seven minute frosting on top which is really marshmallow-y.
These were for my brother. brown sugar pound cake cupcakes with browned butter icing and whipped creamm.
the browned butter icing is the best thing i've ever had. you cook the butter until its turned golden brown and then mix it into an icing with powdered sugar. its got a texture like brownsugar fudge
i know this isn't a dessert food.. but it is the best thing ever ever ever. its corn and tomato pie! you layer corn and tomatos with cheese, herbs and this tangy creamy sauce and bake it in a buscuit crust.. ahh
a cinnamon vanilla cupcake topped with whipped buttercream and a little meringue mushroom topper. the mushroom "scales" on the bottom are white and milk chocolate that i ran a tooth pick through.
The little mushrooms were pretty fun to make. and eat.
chocolate cupcakes with a little seaside themed top. I was bored and decorated a bunch a cupcakes different ways. the shell and star are made out of starbursts. i love playing with icing
I love tiered dessert trays.. i need to stop buying them. mostly my necklaces and rings and stuff sits on them in my room but once in a while i actually put food on them too.
