This is a project started by @iheartfender71 in which I decided to participate. The point of this project was to have a person of the opposite sex do my make-up ((a lover, a relative, or a friend)). My boyfriend consented, and this was the result.
In the beginning, he had no idea where to begin, so I told him I usually start with foundation. I pulled out all of my foundation stuff, and he's like, "Which is the best?" I pulled aside about five items or more and explained what each product did. He kind of gaped at me before saying, "Jesus... That is way too much work." However, he did do his best to use the products as I told him I use them... At least at first. He randomly applied the stuff I use to soak up my facial oils first, then he applied my primer though he didn't really get it everywhere like he was supposed to do. On the plus side, he only used as much as I do. Then, he used my darker liquid foundation to outer perimeter of my face followed by the lighter stuff all over my face. It was sort of a weird order, but it was his game this time, so I let it be. He then attacked various parts of my face with an overdose of my powder foundation.
Next, he decided to move onto my eyes. He goes, where's your eye shadow? This is going to be the fun part. So I pulled out the large-ish amounts of various mini-pallets and single shadows I own along with my eyeshadow primer which he applied a lot more liberally than needed. Then he went, "Which one is the darkest?" So I showed him my pallet of dark greys and black. He went for the darkest grey instead of black, and he started to smear it on my eye lids. Suddenly, he started going way out of the boundaries of my eyelids, and he goes, "Don't worry, baby. I'm going to make you a superhero!" Later, he admitted to me that he only did that because he took the dark shadow a little too high, and in order to fix his mistake, he decided going crazy was his best option.
He basically gave me a mask like Robin's. I asked him if he wanted to do eyeliner, and he did, but he was afraid he'd stab my eyes. I told him that if he stabbed me in the eye, it was my fault, and I wouldn't be angry. However, he made me get my water lines because he was still too afraid despite my convincing him to at least get close to my lash lines on my lids.
Then, he moved onto my lips. He made me find my brightest red liner and lipstick. I wasn't sure which would be the best, so I swatched each thing on my hand, and he chose the same products I used a couple of booths ago for my red lips. He basically gave me new lips by lining them completely out of their boundaries, but he didn't bother to fill them in with the liner. Instead, he just went with the lipstick directly.
He's like, "Okay! We're done." But I was like, "You don't want to go for blush or my eyebrows or anything?" To which his response was his face lighting up and his saying, "Yay! Blush!" He used my darkest pink and made weird, lopsided circles low on my cheeks, practically to my jaw. Then, he took my darkest brow shadow and did probably the only truly decent job on my entire face.
Regardless of his craziness, it was a lot of fun, and we both enjoyed it. There was much laughter to be had. ^^_^^
OH! For the pictures, he set up the really cool lighting set he got me for Christmas, so the lighting is awesome in my opinion. ^^_^^
