www.screamfestla.com provides a very important venue for up-and-coming writers and directors in the horror genre. Their last "Big Discovery" was the film Paranormal Activity, which they vetted in 2007. They're a great bunch, who have worked very hard from scratch in a terribly competetive field. The grant money will help grow their festival even more, and will mean good things for more starving artists.
