I wrote this when I was in Chicago, missing home.

i miss the sun, the heat in the air.
the milk and honey feeling in my neck when i breathe there.
the way the yellow rays pour down through the leaves there.
back in a place called home.
i miss the rain, the dew on the grasses.
the misty, foggy, groggy way that time slowly passes.
driving down a street made of midnight molasses.
