Alastor "Mad Eye" Moody
Dates: died July 27, 1997 while leading the effort to move Harry before the protection charm on Privet Drive wore off.
Hair: grizzled dark gray hair.
Eyes: one normal, one magical: vivid blue, moves independently, can see invisible things and through solid objects, including the back of his head.
Voice: growl.
Distinguishing features: missing leg, scarred from many battles with Dark Wizards, magical eye, large chunk missing from his nose from battle with the Death Eater Rosier.
Age: older (perhaps Arthur Weasley's age?).
Field: Auror (retired), Hogwarts Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher 1994-1995.
Devices: magical blue eye, 2 invisibility cloaks (one loaned to Sturgis Podmore and not returned), a magical trunk, a foe glass (now broken and in the Room of Requirement), a Sneakoscope, and a Secrecy Sensor. At various times he had access to the Marauder's Map and Dumbledore's Put-Outer.
Possible name meanings
"Alastor" = English from Greek, an avenger or nemesis; the implication is that of terrifying but just retribution.
"moody" = describes someone whose outlook or personality changes quite often, usually in a negative way. Alastor Moody certainly fits that description. The word also has an alternate meaning of 'counterfeit' or 'false'.
Profile
Retired Auror, considered one of the best Dark Wizard catchers the Ministry has ever had. Moody came on staff for a year at Hogwarts, but spent it at the bottom of a magical trunk, unbeknownst to anyone but the impostor who put him there. Moody is a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
Mad-Eye is noted for his paranoia, particularly in regard to food and drink, but also wand safety; this last may be related to his own missing leg, but that is mere speculation. Moody takes command of any operation he’s associated with. He’s brusque and efficient and anticipates the moves of the Death Eaters.
He organized the rescue of Harry Potter from Privet Drive for the last time at the end of July, 1997, but was killed in the ensuing battle. His body was never recovered. However, Harry Potter later discovered his magical eye affixed to Dolores Umbridge’s office door and took it. He buried the eye under a tree in a nameless forest. Moody’s favorite expression was “Constant vigilance!”

Vincent Crabbe:
Born: 1980.
Died: May 1, 1998.
Slytherin (Quidditch team Beater).
Member of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad.
Possible name meaning: “Krabben” Low Ger. ‘to scratch, claw.’ To be crabby is to be bad-tempered and combative, or to complain irritably.
Crabbe was the son of a Death Eater and, along with Gregory Goyle, a crony of Draco Malfoy. Crabbe is quite dense, although he seems to be a little brighter than Goyle. Throughout his first six years at Hogwarts, Crabbe and Goyle sycophantically followed Draco Malfoy around and served as something of a bodyguard for him.
However, after Draco and his father Lucius were punished and humiliated by Voldemort in 1997, Crabbe became less willing to do Draco’s bidding. During this last year at Hogwarts, Crabbe and Goyle amazingly got top marks in class, excelling in the Cruciatus Curse when it was taught by Professor (and Death Eater) Amycus Carrow. Carrow was probably also the one who taught Crabbe to create Fiendfyre -- but not to control it. Crabbe was killed (along with the diadem Horcrux) by the Fiendfyre he unleashed in the Room of Requirement.
Hair: pudding-bowl haircut.
Voice: deep grunt, but surprisingly soft.
Distinguishing features: Thickset and extremely mean. Flat nose. Holds his arms sort of stiffly. The Polyjuice Potion to turn someone into Crabbe is colored a deep, murky brown. Taller than Goyle.
Age: born 1980.
Interests: chuckling trollishly, smirking, laughing sycophantically, cracking knuckles, flexing muscles, sniggering stupidly, rubbing knuckles in a menacing way.
--------------------------------------------
Gregory Goyle:
Hair: Short, bristly, extends down onto his forehead.
Eyes: Small, dull, deep-set.
Voice: Low and raspy.
Distinguishing features: thickset and extremely mean, "almost as stupid as he [is] mean". Polyjuice Potion to turn someone into Goyle is the khaki color of a booger.
Age: Born 1980.
Profile: Gregory Goyle is one of Draco Malfoy’s thuggish cronies. Goyle has short, bristly hair that extends down onto his forehead. His eyes are small, dull, and deep set, and he speaks with a low, raspy voice. He’s a mean bully who enjoys whatever chance he gets to boss people around, whether as a member of Umbridge's Inquisitorial Squad in his fifth year or using the Cruciatus Curse on other students in his seventh. Polyjuice Potion to turn someone into Goyle is the khaki color of a booger. Goyle’s interests include chuckling trollishly, smirking, laughing syncophantically, cracking his knuckles, flexing his muscles, sniggering stupidly, and rubbing his knuckles in a menacing way. He doesn’t like writing. Why is that not surprising?. Goyle's father is a Death Eater (OP).
Name meaning: Goyle = from "gargoyle" stone demons carved into the exterior of Gothic buildings as rain spouts.

Fleur Delacour
Born: 1977.
Full name: Fleur Isabelle Delacour. "Fleur Delacour" means "flower of the court".
Fleur is part Veela (her grandmother was one), with blue eyes, long silvery-blonde hair, and very white even teeth. Her voice is "throaty."
Fleur was the Beauxbatons champion for the 1994 - 1995 Triwizard Tournament.
Initially, Fleur is a bit haughty and dismissive. She attended the Yule Ball of December 1994 with Roger Davies of Ravenclaw, criticizing Hogwarts for everything from its food to its decorations in a voice loud enough to be heard by everyone around. She was still somewhat critical almost two years later.
Boys (and grown men) find her extremely attractive, but girls -- particularly Hermione and Ginny -- are usually a bit less than taken with her. She is conscious of her beauty and her power over men; this is at least in part because of her Veela heritage.
Fleur took a part-time job at Gringotts in London to improve her English. She dated Bill Weasley for about a year before they became engaged during the summer of 1996.
When Harry came to stay with the Weasleys the summer of 1996, he discovered that Fleur was also visiting so she could get to know her future in-laws better. At first, the visit had mixed results: Ron was still dumbstruck around her, but her superciliousness grated on Molly and Ginny. However, months later, when Bill was mauled by the werewolf Fenrir Greyback Fleur surprised everyone by standing by him and reaffirming that she wished to marry him "I am good-looking enough for both of us, I theenk!". The wedding took place at the Burrow on August 1, 1997, the same day that the Ministry of Magic fell to the Death Eaters. Bill and Fleur moved to Shell Cottage, where they harbored a number of fugitives and victims of the Death Eaters.
Fleur and her husband fought bravely in the Battle of Hogwarts. In the ensuing period of peace and rebuilding, Bill and Fleur had three children: Victoire (born on the anniversary of the battle), Dominique, and Louis

Victor Krum:
Born: 1977
Bulgarian Seeker at the Quidditch World Cup, August 1994-95.
A famous international Quidditch player while still in school, Viktor Krum attended Hogwarts for the 1994-1995 school year, and represented Durmstrang Institute as their 1994 - 1995 Triwizard Tournament champion. Though a number of girls spent the year fawning over him, Krum became interested in Hermione, who accompanied him to the Yule Ball and was the person he would “sorely miss,” held hostage in the second task. Despite his surly nature and Ron’s jealousy, Krum was always kind to Harry.
Krum was still corresponding with Hermione a year after the Triwizard Tournament, although she appeared to have declined his invitation to visit during the summer of 1995. He saw Hermione and Harry again (though Harry was in disguise) at Fleur Delacour’s wedding; there he took exception to the symbol of the Deathly Hallows that Xeno Lovegood was wearing, thinking it to be the symbol of Gellert Grindelwald. He also complained to Harry, “Vot is the point of being an international Quidditch player if all the good-looking girls are taken?”.

Cho Chang:
Born: c. 1979.
Hogwarts first year: 1990.
House: Ravenclaw.
Quidditch: Seeker for Ravenclaw, but initially had problems with injuries.
Patronus: Swan.
Spouse: Cho Chang married a Muggle.
Cho Chang is a popular, pretty Ravenclaw student who was Harry’s girlfriend for awhile. She loves Quidditch – she has been a fan of the Tutshill Tornados since she was six -- and was the Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.
Harry saw Cho for the first time his third year at Hogwarts when the Gryffindor team was about to play a match with Ravenclaw. His reaction, which surprised him a little, was that she was very pretty. As that school year went by, he developed a crush on her.
At the start of the 1994-95 school year, when the Triwizard Tournament was announced, he imagined himself winning and seeing her face shining with admiration for him. Later, when Harry found out that he was expected to ask a date to the Yule Ball He tried to work up the courage to ask Cho, but by the time he managed it, she had already accepted an invitation from Cedric Diggory, who was also one of Harry's rivals in the Tournament . She and Cedric became a couple after the Ball, much to Harry’s chagrin.
Harry's jealousy kept him from acting on the advice Cedric gave him about the golden egg until it was almost too late. In the second task, she served as hostage for Cedric to rescue, spending several hours deep under the lake in a bewitched sleep. When Cedric was killed at the end of that year, Cho was devastated.
In her sixth year, Cho joined Dumbledore’s Army along with her friend Marietta Edgecombe. Mutual interest between Cho and Harry deepened by Christmas time, when she and and Harry had their first kiss. Sadly, the relationship never took off. Harry was distracted by Dumbledore's Army and Occlumency lessons, and Cho was still grieving for Cedric. Harry took her on a date on Valentine’s Day but felt awkward and uncomfortable the whole time. A few months later, Marietta exposed the D.A. to Umbridge and Cho tried to excuse her actions to Harry. He was unimpressed with her attitude and his feelings toward her cooled considerably. Their relationship ended, and Cho dated Michael Corner for awhile.
On May 1, 1998, Cho returned to Hogwarts to fight in the battle against Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

Cedric Diggory:
Born Sept. or Oct. 1977, died June 24, 1995
House: Hufflepuff (1989-1995)
Cedric Diggory was an extremely handsome boy with gray eyes. He is quite tall and the quiet type. In 1993, when he was a Fifth Year, he took over as Captain and Seeker of the Hufflepuff House Quidditch team. He was a very good student and a prefect. In 1994, he took Cho Chang to the Yule Ball and they were romantically involved.
Cedric was selected by the Goblet of Fire to represent Hogwarts in the Triwizard Tournament, which indicates that he was also well on his way to becoming a powerful wizard. He competed honorably and did well, finally tying Harry Potter for the Triwizard Cup. However, he was killed by Wormtail on Voldemort's command when the Cup turned out to be a Portkey taking them to a lonely graveyard. Dumbledore eulogized Cedric at the Leaving Feast with the famous “Remember Cedric Diggory” speech:
"Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory."

Sirius Black:
Birth name: Sirius Black.
First name meaning: Sirius=Seirios (Greek) meaning "burning;" Sirius=the "Dog Star," the brightest one in the Canis Major ("Great Dog") constellation; a pun on the fact that he can change into a big black dog.
Other names: "Snuffles" and "Padfoot". "Padfoot" refers to his Animagus form; it is also the name that residents of central/northern England (i.e. Staffordshire, Yorkshire) have for the magical black dogs of their legends/fears. Usually, Padfoots guard churchyards or certain roads; are said to roam the countryside at night; tend to be larger than ordinary dogs; can vanish instantly or fade slowly away while standing still, yet can run extremely quickly; typically described as having huge and "blazing" eyes; tend to be silent. Because of their association with graveyards, scholars once believed the black dog form was the preferred form of the Devil, and are usually considered an omen of death, and are, thus, also called the Grim.
Birthdate: 1959 or 1960.
Deathdate: June 1996; killed by his cousin Bellatrix Lestrange whose spell knocked him through an ancient, veiled archway in the Department of Mysteries. Sirius left all his possessions to Harry in his will.

Location of childhood home: Number twelve Grimmauld Place, London.
Mother: Walburga Black (1925-1985); her portrait is permanently mounted in the hallway of the Black family home.
Father: Orion Black (1929-1979) who heavily fortified the family home at 12 Grimmauld Place, London.
Siblings: Regulus Arcturus Black (1961-1979).
Grandparents: Arcturus (1901-1991) and Melania (McMillan) Black, and Pollux (1912-1990) and Irma (Crabbe) Black. Both sets of Sirius's grandparents were direct descendents of Phineas Nigellus Black. One of his grandfathers (either Arcturus or Pollux) was awarded Order of Merlin 1st Class for "Services to the Ministry".
Aunts, Uncles: Uncle Alphard, who left Sirius money and Aunt Elladora who started the tradition of beheading house-elves when they were too old to carry tea trays.
Cousins: Narcissa (Black) Malfoy, Andromeda (Black) Tonks, Bellatrix (Black) Lestrange. Andromeda’s daughter is Nymphadora Tonks, and Narcissa’s son is Draco Malfoy. Arthur Weasley is a second cousin once removed. Andromeda was his favorite cousin. Distantly related to Molly Weasley.
Family motto: Toujours pur (French for "always pure").
Family crest: is mentioned in OP6 but not described; however, Rowling drew it on her Black Family Tree. It shows a shield with hounds rampant emblazoned with a chevron, 2 five-pointed stars and a short sword.
