So my boyfriend, ya, the one I haven't seen in THREE EFFING MONTHS was supposed to be here today at 2:20. So I'm all excited and ready to go pick him up from the airport when I notice that I have a message on my cell.
Basically it says that Air Canada was late getting into Frankfurt and so Joe missed his connecting flight into Nice. SO INSTEAD of him being in my arms right now, he's waiting in a shitty airport for the next flight and i'm waiting at home, pissed off and ready to punch something.
When I finally see him at 6:30 tonight, I am going to ball my eyes out in pure joy!
So all the Canadians are going over to our friends place this afternoon for some awesome Christmas festivities. There will be a gift stealing of sorts (a game where you have to steal the gift that you want), homemade egg nog, treats, and most likely some booze.
Afterward, we'll be hitting up the town for our friend Kirk's birthday.
Not only was it amazing weather, but i'm TOTALLY free to do whatever I want!
... and @Mcevoy and I did just that.
Also, I FINALLY got my package from my mommy today! In it was my slippers (yes, my feet will, at last, stay warm on my tile floors), 100 euros, Halloween candy, my driver's license (which i needed in order to re-schedule my G test for next summer because of the strike that happened this summer and is still going on!), and 2 pairs of earrings and necklaces from my grandma as an early Christmas present! It was awesome. I've been waiting for that thing for almost two months!
I also got free chocolate, which is always nice. Saw 2012, and am surrounded by the delightful sent of an apple cinnamon candle. Mmmmm
So my roommate and I went downstairs the other night and bought a tiny little Christmas tree for 14 euros (hella expensive here, probably due to the lack of pine trees on the Mediterranean...) and tonight we decorated it with our other roommate.
I'm so effing happy right now! Just got back from KICKING MAJOR MORALITY ASS with @McEvoy at our debate about whether prostitution should be legalized. We did very well, and now all that's left is to hand in our linguistics project tomorrow morning then do our translation exam Wednesday.
Then, freedom follows.
Aaaaaaaand T-minus 10 days until my boyfriend gets here =D
My first chocolate from my advent calendar!
Amongst all the stress this week, I'm pretty sure my advent calendar is the only thing keeping me going... well, that and the thought that I get to see my lovely boyfriend in SIXTEEN DAYS!!! Tooooo excited! We're gonna go walking along the Promenade des Anglais and take pictures of all the fake pine trees with fake snow on them and go skating on the artificial rink because it's not cold enough here to have a real one lol
First off - DONE GRAMMAR. CHYES! That's one effing thing off my list.
Secondly, as a break/distraction from doing work this weekend and studying, I went to the dollar (euro?) store beside my apartment building to buy Christmas decorations because Christmas RULES and I love decorating for it =]
Here is me and my mirror snowman. I love him. Oh, and don't mind the socks lol
