This is my really crap confused face....but its for a very good reason. I'm looking over my media theory options for what I can study next year and in the first term I have to choose between media & popular music culture and Media & Fictional Violence. Essentially, my uni is asking me to pick between my music (basically what my life is) and violent xbox games (which take up my life, pretty sure cod will even be a case study). How do they expect me to choose!?! =[

Faithful followers! help me out! what do i do?

from experience i would pick music. as much as you like games, working with them everyday can soon turn things around. go with your music dude and keep your gaming chilling and relieving stress

i'm going to say go with music, even though xbox is amazing, music is just, even more amazing. and when you're older you may not want to work with it everyday, but music you'll be want to be working with your whole life.
    btw, you're hott ;)

    Thats probably wise.
The violant game Case Study would probably focus on the effect they have on children and stuff like that.
Music would just be a win, I think. :)

@Firthy Without knowing the actual content of each I can't quite decide. My heart says Music (I 'grew up' in the Music Industry - playing in working blues/rock pub bands, teaching guitar, selling guitars and owning rehearsal studios - yeah, I'm an ol' fart!). But you know more about the real subject content and what would be more useful/relevant to your ambitions of teaching Media Studies etc.

Maybe spend a bit of time asking around in the field you want to work in when you graduate - I'm sure the people in the field would be glad to help you. (Sorry for the long blurb. Good luck with your decision. No jokes from me today...) :]

@erisedesiree I've been known to do a bit of singing too =]. I did know that, I do in fact have rather big hands! lol =D

@Pseudoart Blimey you did all that growing up? thats really impressive stuff! Yh I know that the fictional violence is typically taught a lot more in the profession that I want to go in to (teaching, as you know =]) so it may be better for me in the long run to do that in greater detail. However, I wish they hadn't dangled the appeal of music in front of me at the same time haha. Thank you for all the advice and the good luck, I look forward to the return of the jokes hahah =D
