My brother and I took the girls to walk around the University a few times before it started raining. April went swimming in all the fountains (except we didn't let her swim in the holy water), Mackenzie tried to eat one or two (or all) of the campus cats, and Audrey carried our water in her backpack (she didn't do anything cute or exciting).
Had a stupid day at the office but you don't want to hear about that. I really need to find a better job.2 commentsJune 6th, 2010

I had a wonderful time last night at my friend's house for dinner - this is a picture with our host's yorkie, Sebastian. And calling him "my favorite yorkie" is quite the compliment, since I do know quite a few.
Our dinner theme was Breakfast and Mom made my favorite breakfast dish - Migas (scrambled eggs, ripped up corn tortillas, tomatoes, onion, peppers, jalapenos, cheese). The other guests brought breakfast items as well, but nothing compared to my Mom's.
Stayed out late last night, woke up for work today all by myself since oddly enough both of my parents worked this Saturday. Went to work, nothing exciting happened except they brought us free pizza! I came home and I was invited by a friend to go out tonight for her birthday but I chose to go with my Dad to HEB instead. Then we got Taco Bell and movies. Finished dinner, put on Audrey's backpack and we went for a run.
We are in Audrey's pre-show conditioning phase. I have bulked her up for the past couple weeks and now I am slimming her back down and hopefully keeping a little bulk in her shoulders, and thighs for the show. I'm going to try and run her (with her backpack) at least 3-4x a week until our show.
Nice summary of my day, no?2 commentsJune 5th, 2010

I was going to get a haircut tomorrow but sadly I have to work until 5PM. And then I am going to a friend's house for a dinner party.
Earlier today I took Audrey to Paws and Claws to groom her and she tried to jump up on the grooming table like she does here at home and she bopped her chest really hard (and obviously didn't make it all the way onto the table). So right now when I was checking her for ticks before bed she yelped as I picked her up and I totally freaked out (until I pinpointed what was making her yelp).
The past few weeks since Spencer died we have been so on edge with these damn dogs. Anything goes wrong and automatically we think they are going to die like Spencer. Its awful. I miss him so much at night its almost unbearable. I cry for him nearly every night.
Had a board meeting for Recycled Rovers at this restaurant in Pharr, and its so good at the time you're eating it, but it always seems to make me feel sick later. Went to get yogurt later with my dog friends and I didn't even eat any. :( I hate not having Thursday and Friday off together.3 commentsJune 4th, 2010

I was reminded by @ashtx that my friend Alex and I participated in a photo shoot at Cornell for a professional photographer who was paying homage to Vladimir Nabokov. Here we are in one of the Cornell libraries all reading Lolita. Alex and I were obviously placed right in the center because we look like badasses.

I can't sleep, well technically I haven't actually tried to go to sleep, but I don't feel like sleeping yet.
Being on DailyBooth reminds me every day that I am not very pretty. There is nothing inherently feminine about my face. In fact, other than my hot pink nails, or a full face of makeup, you might not even be able to guess my gender in any of my pictures, and sadly it wouldn't be the first time my gender is mistaken.
I think I want to be pretty. I spend quite a bit of time doing my makeup and my hair, but I still wear men's t-shirts, basketball shorts, and flip flops because that is what I am most comfortable in. I won't go out of my house without makeup/jewelry, but I don't own a dress, or heels. I paint my nails hot pink, but I want huge biceps. A couple days ago I bought a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle t-shirt from the men's clearance section and sparkly jeweled ballet flats at the same store.
I am a contradiction.12 commentsJune 1st, 2010

Is it just a Texas/Valley thing that Target stores sell popcorn? If it is then damn y'all are missing out. Target popcorn (aside from Texas movie popcorn) is the greatest popcorn ever.
Yesterday Mom and I bought FOUR bags right before they closed the snack bar.
In other news, I was invited to a baby shower tonight of this really cute, hip couple who took my class with their dog. I was totally gonna go but Mom said people only invite you to a baby shower because they want gifts, and I had no gift... so I didn't go.
But I have tomorrow off... wanna play?4 commentsMay 30th, 2010

It was supposed to be a heart! I have two days off and I am pumped!
Oh and since my t-shirt is prominently displayed in this pic I should probably explain it. I graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. Ithaca is both incredibly GORGEOUS and also full of GORGES. So their little slogan to put on souvenir t-shirts is ITHACA IS GORGES... because it is, and it is.
While I was attending Cornell there were several variations being sold including ITHACA IS COLD, ITHACA IS GANGSTA, (INSERT RANDOM DUMB SORORITY) IS GORGES, etc. Basically if you had enough people interested and willing to buy it, the t-shirt places would make it for you.
This variation was sold during a campus performance of the Vagina Monologues. And really, how could I not buy it? At Cornell I would wear it out in public, but down here in South Texas I think people would flip out, so I only wear it to sleep/around the house.10 commentsMay 26th, 2010
