My doctor prescribed the thermonuclear option. I am now taking Levofloxacin every 24 hours for ten days. More frightening is her insistence that I take my steroid inhaler twice every day.

The last time I had a major cold, I ended up in the hospital in part thanks to the steroids. The change of mood was precipitous. I didn't come down from the mania for months.

This is life in Trabuco. How are things with you?

I am taking Theraflu at night and I feel better during the day because I get some rest at night.

When I do not have to work, I just hang out around the house though...

I got some minor cold and I am glad it is not a bad one. I had my flu shot this year though. I think the central heating is drying the air so much that I become more likely to get some head cold thing. Probably should get a vaporizer but have not done it. It is so infrequent that it gets cold here.

I too have been sick all week. A sinus infection that has morphed into bronchitis. It's mostly out of my head now, but my chest feels awful.
I hope this passes for you in an easier manner than last time.

Why does she continue to insist that you take steroids twice every day given your history? I hope Humpty Dumpty in the top right hand corner of the picture is making things better.

Things are well, albeit mostly food-less. I'm relying on a tight budget this term.

I hope you get well soon. And that there will be no hospital visits! It's odd that your doctor would have you use your inhaler twice a day, especially since you'd been in the hospital because of it in the past....=\

Maryland has been nice lately. It's unseasonably warm, and I've been doing a lot of reading (for pleasure!)

I am sorry to hear it gets so complicated for something simple at first. I do hope though, @EmperorNorton , that you won't have any side effect and that you can keep going on in a better way.

today is a 5/10 cephalgia, so I won't last too long at work, but I think the weather is also partially responsible, it's too hot and moist. I'm waiting for that appointment and wished I could go in time right to the date.

@ArdieVerde I hadn't had a cold like this since 2005. Most of the time I beat them off in one night.

@nightiscoming I gotta watch the cold drugs I take. The best answer in the past has been zinc, but it failed me this time. My doctor guesses that my immunity is down due to all the stuff has been happening. Or maybe my mother is haunting me?

@Pencilheart It was a pneumatic bronchitis. Nasty but the antibiotic is fending it off.

@blkhawk Levofloxacin. Very strong stuff that you can use if your bronchitis has turned to pneumonia.

@JeepGirl2 It's not the same stuff that put me in the hospital -- it is not as powerful, but I still worry. The antibiotic seems to be doing the trick.

@MarshallEsquire It's only for the short term and it is not as strong a steroid as what I was on before. The wheezing is something bad and I have a history of asthma. Another time I went to the ER was for shortness of breath.

@stevenisradiguess See what I said to Marshall.

@PrincessAni Too bad a flu shot wouldn't have helped me.

    @5erg As in bipolar.

@Fanchy It's been five years since the last time this happened so I am somewhat grateful. I know about wanting to get to a vital appointment. It took me forever to get in with my neurologist.
