I originally posted this yesterday, but didn't realize I was too far out in the country for it to go through!
So this is the crane my husband's Japanese grandma made out of her napkin. Grandma Yoko is always making something origami if her hands are anywhere near a paper material. She's so wonderfully "typical" Japanese artsy like. She's very old (I'm not even sure how old) and met Grandpa Shirey when she snuck out to a bar to see the US service men who were stationed there during the Korean conflict...(she was 16!) and he married her and brought her back :) They settled way out in the country, and had 3 baby boys and a girl. 50 some odd years later, Grandma Yoko still speaks with a thick Japanese accent, has never left the home where they first lived, and has several grandchildren. She also has never gotten the chance to go back to Japan. :(
She is hilarious though. Keeps us all laughing - definitely the star of the show wherever she goes.
When making this crane, she said:
"You put crane on bamboo stick, and play like puppet. Let it fly! You tell children, You can fly! The sky is limit!!"
She is too cute. I hope she stays with us long enough for Baby Shirey to remember her.

Seriously, I hate coming here because the majority of my time spent here is sitting here waiting! My appointments actually take no longer than 15 minutes..
I didn't booth Sunday or yesterday because I was out at Jimmie Davis State Park for a retreat for the students I work with at church.
You know the number 1 thing i hate about the baby doctor?
Pregnant women. Everywhere.
Before being pregnant, and even now, I have always just had a general aversion to pregnant women..like..they're usually dressed like slobs..cranky and crabby...and are constantly complaining to the front desk about something..

Looky where I'm at...this is actually my first time to ever go to a laundry mat. Our new apartment doesn't have a washer an dryer, and my awesome sister in law sold ours that was in storage in HER garage sale with out even asking us!!!
So, we are here. I actually am not minding it..I just have a wedding to be at in a little bit..so my clothes need to finish now!!!

I just got out of a wonderfully warm bath, and I'm proud to say I am now sitting on my comfy couch, in my pj's, cuddling with my bad dog, and watching the Travel Channel! Woo!
My last final is at 2 today, and then I'm home free!! I've crammed so much, that I honestly am legitimately crammed out. I have lost all will power and do not care to study another second. So I'm not! Haha!
Avey (bad dog) isn't much for pictures obviously..lol.. She looks terribly in convenienced here lol. "mom..I'm busy..I have things to chew, geez..."
I have a whole collection of city based cups from World Market and I loooove them! My favorite is my Tokyo one though.
Random fact: My in law's live right outside of San Fran..in a city called Modesto. I can't wait to visit one day. My Sis and law says it's awesome.

Every morning I make Folgers coffee (only because it was free...I'm using it up so I can go back to Community), mixed with liquid French vanilla creamer. I HATE powdered creamer! Yuck!
