I just typed a really long response to this then realised i wasnt logged in....FUCK!
at any rate i wanted to say be careful not to narrow down your options too early...you dont need to do a media production course to get into the tv or film industry...in fact sometimes its better not to.
some people i have spoken to prefer people who have learnt as part of a passion rather than learnt a regimented way of doing things. and you can learn everything you need just by keeping it as a hobby for now, i mean i plan to go into the film industry too, but i did normal A levels and am now doing a totally unrelated degree... but in my time at uni ive got heavily involved in the student Tv station and luckily for me Exeter is one of the top student tv stations in the country.... but in the year ive learnt how to edit, do live broadcasts, use cameras and do special effects...ive made short films, organised filmed and visonmixed live events, made several programs and done a variety of special effects, and in a few months will be going as part of a press team to the BFI film festival and interviewing the celebs... whilst still doing a degree and keeping my options open enough that if i decide to do something else later on...i still can.
you never know how much you may change in a year or if you will still wanna do film...this time last year i was set on working in theatre... i even got accepted into the top technical theatre university in the country... but i turned it down in favour of doing a normal degree, and getting all the life experiences that go with it, i have fun, party hard but whilst doing it have learnt useful skills, developed a passion for tv and film, had to opportunity to work with some increadibly people, have my work entered into student tv awards, seen by some of the leading people in the tv and film industry and got to talk to them about the industry...
i almost went for a vocational course too early and am so so glad i didnt, whilst id have loved it, i would have missed outon some of the best experiences of my life and i would never have got into tv.
you can be just as successfull just by doing it at uni as a hobby, i have friends who have gone into it and now one is a casting director for bbc comedy, one works for hatrick, primarily on have i got news for you but does other programs too, one works for MTV and he dropped out of uni.... i have another friend who graduated from an english degree and from the experience of tv he got at uni, he walked straight into an awesome job for an advertising company...ahead of many candidates who had done media courses, because he learnt for himself, wasnt taught a regimented way of doing things....
i hope some of this helps and im not waffling too much...i think i was much more meaningful in my first attempt at responding but oh well
all im saying is dont narrow down your options too soon as u may miss out on some amazing life experiences, theres always room for u to get into the industry at a later stage and u may fair better from doing it that way, at the same time, u may decide in a few years time u dont want to do film...and if u narrow your options now u wont have much choice...
but at the same time, if ur sure then its your choice... and for what its worth..i like ur videos and think you would be a fucking wicked addition to the industry...hope to work with you someday

for what its worth i read the comments and dont agree with them, personally i think your an awesome youtuber and deffinatley deserved getting featured, not only that your one of the nicest people ive met on youtube (admittedly it was only once but u were nice to me at SitC and i really appreciated that)
when i watched your vids for the first time i was impressed with the quality of the production and was entertained by the content, if these cretins dont see that then there clearly not your target audience, that being sane people with any taste or iq :)
even if u dont like the vid as much as your others, i thought it was amusing and well planned out. i even showed it to my friend, admittedly she just laughed and said u were cute but still! im rambling now... but you get the idea.... your brilliant and yeh theres room for improvement but those comments were unfounded and just plain mean, with no basis in fact.
ok im done now
take care x<3
