The Slowest Death

My source of life is breaking
Like old paint from walls flaking
The rain cold bites my skin
Nothing is how it should have been
A stone wall has risen round me
So no one can see the pain I bleed

The mocking sight of clasped hands, shared kisses
They see me smile and it dismiss
But that smile is hollow and my eyes distant
What is left inside is shriveled - can you hear it pant?
Calling for renewal, revival
What I need I search for survival

However the oasis of love eludes and teases
Im dying from pain and rejection's diseases
I look for a savior but none is there
Drawing inside myself but no one cares

My source of life is breaking
Like old paint from walls flaking
The rain cold bites my skin
Nothing is how it should have been
A stone wall has risen round me
So no one can see the pain I bleed

***See the pain and longing in her eyes. She hides behind the mask of laugh and smiles. Take away that mask and see into the soul slowly being swallowed by the slowest death***

[[Dont be alarmed - this poem is from a while ago. Totally not suicidal or depressed at the moment - I just like writing these kinda poems. Hits home a little bit more - dont you think? ^^]]
