The view from my Sociology class about 2 or 3 days ago. Learning about "Inequality in Society" had been totally enlightening and fascinating so far, my classes this semester are so awesome! :D

If you can't see it well enough, that would be about an inch of ice on all of the branches of these trees. Glad the weather has finally passed, and according to a random ground rodent spring might be coming soon? Isn't he only right about 30% of the time though?

So instead of getting two feet of snow like Boston did, we just got freezing rain and slush and crap in NYC. And we still had class of course. On my way down to class today I snapped this. Yep, those are bags of garbage (once buried under the snowbanks) petrified in a film of ice. Lovely. Is it June yet?

Snow in Central Park is so beautiful. Fingers are also beautiful I guess? @reddymcspazzy makes another cameo in this picture as she made a surprise appearance in NYC for a couple days and we took an awesome walk through the park which involved me trying to sled down hills in
The Ramble on my coat. Yeah...that didn't work out so well.4 commentsJanuary 31st, 2011

This semester I'm taking a class called Intro to Game Design. We started off the first class by being given random things out of a bag that we had to make some sort of game out of. Not as easy as we thought it would be. So after 20 or 30 minutes, we made "Glareā¢", a game of intense strategy and uh...batteries? I won't explain the rules, but it was such a weird yet satisfying feeling to have people play it and actually get into it. I'll probably be sharing my projects on DB throughout the semester.

Panqueques! Here are the pancakes that @reddymcspazzy and I made over the break at my house. They're all sort of oddly deformed, but they're special in their own ways. And as an added bonus they were edible!
Anyway, I'm back in NYC again, starting up my classes and preparing to finally chose my major. Sorry for the lack of pictures again, my computer's USB ports were once again refusing to work for about a week or so.0 commentsJanuary 25th, 2011

Spinning a pink Mighty Mighty Bosstones seven inch on my brand new turntable! Despite the "Digital Age of Music" and torrenting becoming so popular, vinyl is making a surefire comeback. As much as I download, I've always loved the physicality of holding a CD booklet and reading through all of the lyrics. Hell, I grew up on cassettes with my old Sony walkman! Vinyl records were introduced to me by my parents with old Captain Kangaroo albums, and now I've decided to start a collection of my own. I was skeptical at first about the listening "experience" of a record, I just laughed it off. But then I actually tried it for myself. I actually sat down and listened to an entire album from start to finish without any web browsing or chatting or anything; no distractions... the way a record should be listened to! Aside from this cheesy stuff, bottom line: vinyl is still worth checking out people, turn the iPod's off for a little while.

Continuing with the snow themed pictures, here's one of South Station in downtown Boston a few days after the first blizzard. This is the place I always arrive and depart from during my trips back home. It's strangely become a huge part of my life now. Oh and I always thought those T (subway) entrances were funny looking...
I also find it funny that the first day I come back the new DailyBooth just happens to launch...
Anyway, TWO DAYS IN A ROW YAY!0 commentsJanuary 14th, 2011

My backyard as of yesterday afternoon. The second blizzard of my winter break and I couldn't be happier about it, I'm loving the snow even more than usual this year! We got 15 inches yesterday, the most I can remember in a long time. I still can't imagine ever living in CA or FL, I need my four seasons damnit! Now let's see if I can post a picture two days in a row on here, that'd be kind of cool or something.

Today (12/22) was the 8th anniversary of Joe Strummer's death, so naturally I had to visit the mural on Avenue A. I didn't get a picture because it was so dark, but here's an old one I took last year. While I never had the chance to see The Clash, or Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, I still feel deeply connected to him in such a strange way. Without ever meeting him or even seeing him, he is so deeply connected to the music I listen to, the music I play, and so many things that I stand for today. I could go on about how he's inspired me, but I'll keep in brief for now. Thanks Joe.
